Duration: 12 Months** Position Overview We are seeking a qualified and experienced Health & Safety Specialist to support a Project in Jordan.The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and promoting health and safety standards across project activities, conducting site inspections and audits, supporting compliance with applicable Jordanian legislation, and ensuring that construction activities meet relevant international and project-specific Health & Safety requirements.
Responsibilities
- Monitor H&S; compliance across construction activities and site operations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Review contractors H&S; plans, method statements, and safety procedures.
- Identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Monitor compliance with Jordanian H&S; laws and regulations.
- Support accident/incident investigations and maintain H&S; records.
- Ensure compliance with applicable EBRD Environmental & Social requirements.
- Prepare H&S; reports and participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks.
Requirements
- B.Sc. or equivalent in Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related discipline preferred.
- Preferably 5+ years of relevant H&S; experience.
- Experience in construction safety, audits, and inspections, preferably on electricity transmission/substation projects.
- Knowledge of Jordanian H&S; legislation and practical understanding of EBRD Environmental & Social requirements.
- Robust communication, reporting, and site inspection skills.
