We are seeking an experienced, commercially astute and hands-on Head of Finance & Accounts to establish and lead the complete finance function of our manufacturing facility in Manesar.

With an expected workforce of approximately 101–300 employees, the organisation is in its setup and operational development phase.

The selected candidate will be responsible for establishing financial systems, managing plant setup investments, maintaining financial discipline, ensuring statutory compliance, developing manufacturing costing processes and supporting management in financial and commercial decision-making.

This is a finance leadership and function-building role, not merely an accounting or bookkeeping position.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in manufacturing finance, plant costing, financial planning, working capital management, statutory compliance and implementation of financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

1. Establish Finance & Accounting Operations

- Set up the complete Finance & Accounts function, including policies, SOPs, financial controls and reporting systems.
- Establish chart of accounts, cost centres, accounting processes and financial approval workflows.
- Evaluate, implement and manage accounting/ERP software integrated with purchasing, inventory, production and sales operations.
- Implement accounting policies consistent with applicable financial reporting standards.
- Establish monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing processes.
- Build a reliable financial MIS and management reporting framework.
- Recruit, train and manage the finance and accounts team.

2. Plant Setup, CAPEX & Project Financial Control

- Develop and monitor budgets for factory setup, commissioning and operational readiness.
- Monitor capital expenditure related to machinery, equipment, electrical installations, infrastructure, fit-outs and technology.
- Control machinery advances, vendor payments, installation charges and project-related expenses.
- Maintain project-wise and department-wise budget-versus-actual reports.
- Implement approval procedures and milestone-based payment controls for capital expenditure.
- Establish fixed-asset registers, capitalisation procedures, depreciation and asset verification systems.
- Monitor financial commitments, contractual payments and project cost overruns.
- Provide management with regular updates on total project expenditure and funds required for completion.

3. Financial Planning, Budgeting & Cash Flow

- Prepare annual budgets, monthly forecasts and rolling cash-flow projections.
- Monitor planned versus actual expenditure across all operational departments.
- Develop weekly and monthly fund requirement statements.
- Forecast cash requirements for salaries, rent, utilities, procurement, statutory payments and other expenses.

- Track working capital, debtor collections, creditor payments and inventory-related fund requirements.
- Support management in evaluating funding requirements, financing arrangements and capital allocation decisions.
- Identify opportunities to improve liquidity and optimise cash utilisation.

4. Manufacturing Costing & Profitability Management

- Establish product costing models, including raw materials, labour, manufacturing overheads and conversion costs.
- Work with production and engineering teams to establish and validate Bill of Materials (BOM) costing.
- Monitor standard costs against actual production costs.
- Analyse material consumption, wastage, scrap, rejection and production variances.
- Implement accurate inventory accounting for raw materials, work-in-progress and finished goods.
- Calculate product-wise, customer-wise and category-wise profitability.
- Support management in pricing, margins, product mix and cost optimisation.
- Establish systems for periodic stock reconciliation and inventory valuation.

5. Statutory Compliance, Taxation & Audit

- Ensure timely compliance with applicable GST, TDS, TCS, Income Tax and other financial statutory requirements.
- Monitor GST reconciliations, input tax credit, vendor compliance and applicable e-invoicing/e-way bill requirements.
- Oversee statutory reporting under applicable Companies Act requirements and accounting standards.
- Coordinate statutory audits, tax audits, internal audits and cost audits wherever applicable.
- Handle tax assessments, statutory notices and liaison with external financial and tax advisors.
- Maintain appropriate accounting records, supporting documentation and audit trails.
- Develop a statutory financial compliance calendar and ensure timely completion.

6. Banking, Treasury & Working Capital

- Manage banking relationships, financial transactions and cash-flow planning.
- Coordinate working capital limits, banking facilities and financing requirements, where applicable.
- Monitor bank reconciliations, payment approvals and cash positions.
- Ensure appropriate controls over vendor payments, employee reimbursements and advances.
- Evaluate vendor payment terms, credit periods and available financial discounts.
- Monitor customer collections, credit limits and overdue receivables.
- Manage foreign currency transactions, import payments and associated documentation, where applicable.

7. Procurement, Inventory & Commercial Controls

- Establish financial controls over purchase orders, goods receipts, vendor invoices and payments.
- Coordinate with Purchase, Stores, Production and Sales teams to ensure accurate transaction recording.
- Introduce three-way matching of purchase orders, goods receipts and invoices where applicable.

- Monitor inventory movements, stock adjustments, shortages and financial losses.
- Review vendor contracts and commercial terms from a financial-risk perspective.
- Implement controls for discounts, commissions, customer credit and commercial claims.
- Support periodic physical stock verification and reconciliation.

8. Financial Reporting & Management Support

- Prepare monthly Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and financial performance reports.
- Develop dashboards covering cash availability, liabilities, operating costs, inventory, collections and profitability.
- Present actual performance against approved budgets and forecasts.
- Provide financial analysis to support expansion, procurement and capital investment decisions.
- Identify financial risks, control weaknesses and cost-reduction opportunities.
- Act as the primary financial advisor to the Managing Director / CEO on day-to-day operations and major expenditure decisions.

- Proven experience implementing or improving financial systems, ERP processes and MIS reporting.
- Advanced Excel proficiency and working knowledge of manufacturing ERP systems.
- Robust analytical, leadership, communication and commercial decision-making skills.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Experience in automotive components, engineering, industrial products or manufacturing.
- Prior experience in setting up finance operations for a new manufacturing facility or growing organisation.
- Exposure to Manesar, Gurugram, Bawal or Dharuhera manufacturing ecosystems.
- Experience managing capital-intensive projects, machinery procurement and commissioning budgets.
- Experience with distribution, dealer networks, imports and customer credit management will be an advantage.
- Comfortable working directly with promoters, plant management, technical teams and external financial advisors.

Key Performance Indicators

- Accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
- Effective management of working capital and cash flow
- CAPEX monitoring and budget adherence
- Statutory compliance and audit readiness
- Monthly financial closing efficiency
- Inventory accuracy and manufacturing cost visibility
- Receivables, payables and payment discipline
- Implementation of financial SOPs and internal controls
