Key Responsibilities

- Oversee direct tax compliance, including computation and filing of income-tax returns and applicable statutory forms.
- Manage advance tax estimates, tax provisioning, reconciliations, and support for financial closing and reporting.
- Lead tax assessments, scrutiny proceedings, notices, appeals, and responses to tax authorities in coordination with advisors.
- Monitor changes in direct tax laws, rules, notifications, and case law; assess business impact and recommend appropriate actions.
- Support tax planning and risk mitigation while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.
- Review tax accounting entries, reconciliations, documentation, and supporting schedules for accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate tax audits, statutory audits, internal audits, and transfer of information to auditors and consultants, as applicable.
- Develop and maintain tax controls, compliance calendars, SOPs, and documentation to reduce exposure and improve process efficiency.




- Provide guidance to finance and accounting teams on direct-tax matters and ensure timely resolution of tax queries.
- Prepare management updates on tax exposures, pending matters, compliance status, and key risks.

Desired Qualifications & Skills

- CA is preferred; candidates with a relevant postgraduate qualification in Finance/Taxation and robust directly relevant experience may also be considered.
- Strong working knowledge of Indian direct tax laws, income-tax compliance, tax accounting, assessments, and litigation support.
- Experience managing tax provisions, reconciliations, audit coordination, and statutory deadlines.
- Ability to interpret tax legislation and translate requirements into practical business guidance.
- Strong analytical, documentation, communication, stakeholder-management, and team-leadership skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and relevant accounting/ERP systems;

experience with large or multi-entity organizations is an advantage.
