Key Responsibilities

- Resource Forecasting &
- Modelling:

Analyze historical usage and peak business traffic to forecast future GCP compute (CPU, Memory), storage (Cloud Storage, Bigtable).

- GCP Quota &

- Reservation Management:

Monitor, request, and adjust GCP regional and project-level quotas.

Manage Committed Use

Discounts (CUDs) and Compute Engine reservations to guarantee hardware availability for critical workloads.

- Supply Chain &

- Regional Availability:

Partner with Google Account teams and internal engineering to navigate GCP zonal/regional capacity constraints, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery readiness.

- Cost Optimization &

- FinOps Collaboration:

Identify overprovisioned instances, idle resources, and inefficient storage classes. Recommend right-sizing, spot VMs, or architectural shifts to maximize unit economics.

- Reporting &

- Dashboards:

Build automated capacity dashboards using GCP operations suite (Cloud Monitoring, BigQuery, Looker) to track capacity headroom, resource health,



and growth trends.

Required Qualifications

- Education &
- Experience

: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or equivalent; 3–5+ years managing cloud infrastructure, capacity planning, or cloud operations (GCP preferred).

- GCP Core Knowledge: Robust expertise in Compute Engine, (VMs/Reservations), Persistent Disk/Cloud Storage, and BigQuery.

- Data &

- Analytics:

Proficiency with BigQuery, SQL, Python, or R for time-series forecasting, trend analysis, and capacity modelling.

- Tools &

- Monitoring:

Hands-on experience with Cloud Monitoring (Stackdriver), Looker/Grafana, Terraform, and cloud cost management platforms (e.g., GCP Cost Management, Cloud Health).

- Certifications (Preferred): Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect, GCP Associate Cloud Engineer, or FinOps Certified Practitioner (FCP).
