True Diamond
Mumbai
First a little about us: TrueDiamond is India’s largest designer RINGS atelier - and possibly the most fun troublemaker the jewellery world has seen in a while. We’re disrupting the way fine jewellery is marketed in the country: no brides, no cheesy romance ads. Instead, we tell witty, wildly relatable & fun stories and create rings that feel like identity, energy, and personality - not “occasion wear.” Our content is bold & risky, and our rings steal the spotlight.
If you’re someone who wants to help shape culture, taste and aesthetic - not just “work at a company” - you’ll feel at home here
We need exceptional people, a kick-ass culture, and an organisation that can scale without losing its soul.
That's where you come in.
The role: Chief Human Enabler. Culture Ninja. People Person.
Okay, your official title is Founder’s Office – People & Culture. You would effectively lead HR but think of this as much more than a conventional HR role.
You’ll work closely with the founders to build the organisation from the inside out - finding brilliant people, making them better, creating a culture they’re proud of, and building the systems that let everyone do their best work.
You’ll have a front-row seat to building a quick-growing consumer brand, direct access to the founders, and the freedom to make things happen rather than wait for five levels of approval.
What will you actually do?
1. Find our people.
- Build a team of exceptional people across marketing, retail, operations and everything in between.
- Own the hiring journey, from writing compelling JDs and sourcing talent to interviews, offers and onboarding.
- Find people who bring not just the right skills, but the right attitude, ambition and cultural fit.
- Make candidates fall in love with the opportunity - even before they join us.
2. Build a culture people give a damn about.
- Help define what True Diamond stands for as an employer.
- Create an environment built on ownership, speed, trust, transparency and high standards.
- Make performance, feedback, recognition and employee engagement part of how we work - not just things we talk about.
- Build rituals, experiences and initiatives that make work meaningful, without turning the office into a forced-fun factory.
3.
Make the people engine run like clockwork.
- Own core HR operations: payroll coordination, policies, attendance, leave, employee records, compliance and documentation.
- Build simple, scalable processes that make life easier for employees and managers.
- Ensure the basics are done brilliantly, consistently and on time.
- Bring structure to the chaos without killing the creativity.
4. Be the founders’ go-to person for all things people.
- Work directly with the founders on organisation design, team structure, hiring priorities and people strategy.
- Help managers become better leaders and teams become more effective.
- Tackle difficult conversations and people problems with empathy, fairness and a healthy dose of common sense.
- Spot organisational issues before they become organisational disasters.
5. Make us better as we grow.
- Build performance management and development frameworks that help people grow with the business.
- Use data and feedback to understand what’s working and what needs fixing.
- Keep asking: How do we build a better place to work without becoming another boring company?
Who are we looking for?
We care less about fancy designations or experience and more about the fire in your belly & what you can do.
You could be an recruitment professional who wants a bigger mandate, a People & Culture enthusiast who loves building things from scratch, or a high-ownership operator who has discovered that their superpower is making teams work better.
You should ideally bring
- 1-3 years of experience in HR, People & Culture, talent acquisition or a related role. We’re open to exceptional candidates outside this range. (Freshers too)
- Strong hiring instincts and the ability to identify genuinely great talent.
- A basic understanding of HR operations, including payroll, policies and employee lifecycle management.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to handle difficult conversations.
- A bias for action. You see a problem, take ownership and find a solution.
- The maturity to balance empathy with accountability and fun with high standards.
- Comfort with ambiguity, fast-paced environments and building processes where none exist yet.
Most importantly, you should enjoy working with people, have strong opinions but low ego, and care about building something that matters. What’s in it for you?
- A seat at the table: Work directly with the founders and influence how the company grows.
- A genuinely broad role: Shape hiring, culture, organisation design and business execution - not just one HR vertical.
- A blank canvas: Build systems and initiatives from scratch instead of inheriting a 200-page employee handbook from 1998.
- Real ownership: We want someone who makes decisions, takes initiative and gets things done.
- Room to grow: As the business scales, so can your role, responsibilities and impact.
- A team with personality: We take our ambitions seriously. Ourselves? Not always.
A small disclaimer. We currently work a six-day week. We know, the internet might have some thoughts. Could that change someday? Maybe. But for now, that's how we roll.
If building something ambitious with a bunch of crazy, passionate people excites you, we hope it's worth the extra day! This isn't a 9-to-5 role where you tick boxes, send birthday emails and call it culture.
Some days, you'll be interviewing brilliant candidates. Other days, you'll be fixing a payroll issue, navigating a difficult conversation or figuring out why a process that worked for 20 people doesn't work for 100.
You'll need to be strategic enough to think big and hands-on enough to get the basics right.
If that sounds exciting rather than exhausting, we might just get along.

1. Why you think you are an ideal fit for this role.
2. What part of the role excites you & what part scares you.
We don't need a five-page cover letter. We like people who get to the point. Come build the team behind True Diamond.
