About the Role

We are looking for an experienced professional to lead the end-to-end setup of a new paint manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in plant establishment, machinery selection & procurement, vendor management, paint formulation development, and subsequent day-to-day operations. This is a critical leadership role for someone who has previously set up or significantly scaled paint/ coatings manufacturing units.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the complete setup of the paint manufacturing plant, including layout planning, process flow design, and infrastructure requirements.
- Identify, evaluate, and select appropriate machinery and equipment for paint production (mixing, milling, filling, packing, etc.).
- Manage end-to-end procurement of machinery, negotiate with vendors/suppliers, and ensure timely installation, commissioning, and trial runs.
- Select and onboard reliable vendors for raw materials, packaging, and other inputs while ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and supply chain reliability.
- Develop, optimize, and standardize paint formulations (decorative, industrial, or specialty paints as required) in collaboration with R&D;/technical teams.
- Establish quality control systems, process parameters, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for consistent product quality.




- Oversee plant operations post-setup, including production planning, manpower management, inventory control, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory, environmental, safety, and quality regulations (including relevant BIS/ ISO standards).
- Build and lead cross-functional teams (production, quality, maintenance, stores) and drive operational excellence.
- Prepare project timelines, budgets, and progress reports for management.

Desired Candidate Profile

- Bachelor's/ Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Paint Technology, Polymer Science, or related field (preferred).
- 10-15 years of total experience in the paint/ coatings/ chemical manufacturing industry, with at least 4-6 years in a leadership role involving plant setup or major expansion.
- Proven track record of setting up or commissioning a paint manufacturing unit (or similar process plant).
- Strong knowledge of paint formulation chemistry, production processes, and quality parameters.
- Hands-on experience in machinery selection, vendor evaluation, and capital equipment procurement.
- Valuable understanding of plant engineering, utilities, effluent treatment, and safety norms.
- Excellent negotiation, project management, and people management skills.
