1. Job Objective

To prepare accurate project cost estimates, quantity take-offs, BOQs, and quotations based on drawings, specifications, and client requirements, ensuring cost efficiency and timely submission of tenders and proposals.
1. Key Responsibilities

- Study and review project drawings, technical specifications, and tender documents.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and quantity take-offs.
- Calculate material, labour, equipment, transportation, and other project-related costs.
- Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors and compare prices.
- Prepare tender documents, commercial proposals, and cost breakdowns.
- Verify material quantities and identify discrepancies in drawings and specifications.
- Analyse project costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality.
- Prepare rate analysis for materials, labour, and other project activities.
- Maintain estimation records, costing sheets, quotation details, and project databases.
- Assist the project team in preparing revised estimates for changes in scope and variations.
- Ensure estimates and quotations are submitted within the specified deadlines.




- Follow up on submitted quotations and provide technical or commercial clarifications when required.
- Prepare comparison statements between estimated costs and actual project costs.

1. Technical Skills Required

- Knowledge of quantity surveying, costing, and estimation techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and relevant estimation software.
- Understanding of BOQ preparation, rate analysis, and tender documentation.
- Knowledge of material specifications, market rates, and vendor quotations.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
