Electrical Draftsman – Control & Relay Protection Panels

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Draftsman with solid proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and hands-on experience preparing electrical drawings for control, relay, and protection panels used in high-voltage substations.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare AC/DC schematic diagrams for control, relay, and protection panels.
- Develop circuit breaker trip/close, interlocking, trip circuit supervision (TCS), breaker failure (LBB), and auto-reclosing schemes.
- Prepare CT/PT secondary circuit diagrams and protection relay interface drawings.
- Develop panel internal wiring, external cable interconnection, terminal block, and cable core allocation drawings.
- Prepare wire numbering, ferrule numbering, terminal plans, and panel layout drawings.
- Interpret Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), protection philosophies, and relay logic diagrams.
- Revise drawings based on engineering comments and maintain drawing revision records.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure accurate and complete drawings.

Required Skills & Qualifications




- Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering preferred.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in substation electrical drafting and protection and control systems.
- Strong hands-on proficiency in AutoCAD 2D.
- Good understanding of AC/DC control circuits, CT/PT circuits, trip/close circuits, interlocking, and protection relay interfaces.
- Experience in preparing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, terminal plans, and interconnection drawings.
- Familiarity with numerical protection relays and substation automation systems.

Preferred Experience
- Experience working on 66 kV, 132 kV, 220 kV, and/or 400 kV substations.
- Knowledge of line, transformer, busbar, and breaker failure protection schemes.
- Familiarity with Siemens, ABB/Hitachi Energy, GE, Schneider Electric, SEL, or equivalent protection relays.
- Experience with transmission utilities, EPC contractors, substation OEMs, or protection and control panel manufacturers.
- Knowledge of IEC 61850 and Bay Control Units (BCUs) is an added advantage.
