Director of Employee Relations (Global role based in India)

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Director Employee Relations professional to support the APAC region. This role will report into the head of Employee relations based in the US.

The role will advise leaders and HR partners on sensitive employee matters, promote fair and consistent practices, and support the resolution of complex cases across different markets.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide guidance on employee relations matters, including performance concerns, grievances, disciplinary issues and workplace investigations.
- Manage sensitive cases from initial assessment through to resolution, ensuring appropriate documentation and confidentiality.
- Coach managers and HR colleagues on handling employee matters and having difficult conversations.
- Advise on local employment requirements,



partnering with in-country HR and legal teams where needed.
- Identify employee relations risks and recommend practical steps to address them.
- Support the development and consistent application of regional policies, processes and case management practices.
- Review case trends and share insights to help improve the employee experience and address recurring issues.

Requirements

- 20 + years of relevant experience in employee relations, HR business partnering or a related HR role within a multinational environment.
- Must have managed regional/global remit for a well renowned MNC ideally listed US MNC.
- Experience advising on complex and sensitive employee matters across multiple markets.
- Positive understanding of employment practices and the ability to navigate differing local requirements across APAC.
- Strong judgement, discretion and communication skills, with the confidence to advise managers at different levels.
- Able to manage competing priorities and handle cases with care, objectivity and sound documentation
