About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Diamond Jewellery Merchandiser to strengthen our merchandising and sourcing team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in diamond jewellery sourcing, procurement, vendor management, product selection, pricing, and collection planning.

The candidate should possess strong knowledge of diamond quality, grading, certifications, jewellery trends, market pricing, and customer preferences. The role requires frequent travel across India to meet suppliers, explore new collections, and identify business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Diamond Jewellery Sourcing & Procurement

- Source quality diamond jewellery from reputed manufacturers, wholesalers, and suppliers across India.
- Identify new vendors and establish long-term supplier relationships.
- Procure solitaire, bridal, engagement, daily-wear, and contemporary diamond jewellery collections.
- Evaluate designs based on diamond quality, craftsmanship, pricing, and market demand.
- Negotiate purchase prices, making charges, margins, delivery schedules, and commercial terms.

2. Merchandising & Collection Planning

- Research emerging diamond jewellery trends and changing customer preferences.
- Plan collections for bridal, engagement, festive, daily-wear, and special occasions.
- Identify popular designs and fast-moving products in the market.
- Select jewellery according to customer segments, price ranges, and sales performance.
- Develop exclusive collections that meet customer expectations and business objectives.
- Coordinate with design, marketing, sales, and inventory teams for collection launches.

3. Diamond Knowledge & Quality Assessment

- Maintain a strong understanding of the 4Cs: Cut, Colour, Clarity, and Carat.
- Understand diamond grading standards and certification requirements.
- Assess diamond jewellery for quality, design, stone specifications, and pricing.
- Verify product specifications and certification details, where applicable.




- Stay updated on diamond market developments, quality standards, and pricing trends.

4. Supplier & Vendor Management

- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable diamond jewellery manufacturers and suppliers.
- Visit manufacturing units and supplier facilities when required.
- Assess vendor capabilities, craftsmanship, quality standards, pricing, and delivery performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure timely delivery of purchased products.

5. Market Visits & Industry Exhibitions

- Travel across India for jewellery exhibitions, trade fairs, sourcing events, and supplier meetings.
- Discover new manufacturers, designers, collections, and sourcing opportunities.
- Study regional market trends and changing customer preferences.
- Represent the company professionally during supplier negotiations and industry events.

6. Pricing & Commercial Management

- Monitor diamond and gold price movements and assess their impact on jewellery costs.
- Compare supplier quotations, diamond costs, making charges, and commercial terms.
- Ensure product selection aligns with company pricing strategies and profit margins.
- Support management and purchase teams with cost comparisons and buying recommendations.

7. Inventory & Product Performance

- Coordinate with purchase, inventory, and sales teams to plan stock requirements.
- Analyse sales data to identify fast-moving and slow-moving diamond jewellery.
- Plan procurement based on demand, seasonal requirements, and stock availability.
- Maintain a balanced product mix across different designs and price segments.
- Recommend actions to reduce excess and slow-moving inventory.
- Maintain accurate product specifications, purchase records, and vendor databases.

Candidate Requirements





- 3–8 years of relevant experience in diamond jewellery merchandising, buying, sourcing, or procurement.
- Strong knowledge of diamond jewellery quality, grading, and certification.
- Good understanding of the 4Cs: Cut, Colour, Clarity, and Carat.
- Proven experience in vendor sourcing, supplier negotiations, and jewellery procurement.
- Knowledge of bridal, solitaire, engagement, daily-wear, and contemporary diamond jewellery.
- Strong understanding of market trends, product pricing, and customer preferences.
- Willingness to travel frequently across India.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-management skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel and inventory management systems is preferred.
