Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced DFMEA Engineer to support design risk assessment and product quality initiatives for automotive powertrain systems and components. The role involves conducting DFMEA activities, identifying design failure modes, performing risk prioritization, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure robust product development and compliance with automotive quality standards.

Responsibilities

- Conduct Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) for powertrain components and subsystems.
- Identify potential failure modes, effects, causes, and recommend mitigation actions.
- Perform Severity, Occurrence, and Detection assessments and drive risk prioritization activities.
- Analyze powertrain components, system interactions, and functional requirements.
- Support APQP and PPAP deliverables throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T;, and ballooned drawings.
- Ensure compliance with AIAG/VDA FMEA methodology and automotive quality standards.




- Facilitate design risk assessments and track closure of corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Supplier Quality, and Program teams.
- Create, maintain, and update DFMEA documents using OMNEX or similar FMEA tools.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and incorporate lessons learned into future designs.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Production Engineering, or related discipline.

Required Skills

- Solid expertise in DFMEA methodology and risk assessment.
- Experience with automotive powertrain systems, engine components, or related subsystems.
- Knowledge of AIAG/VDA FMEA standards.
- Proficiency in APQP, PPAP, and quality documentation.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and critical characteristics.
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.

Preferred Skills

- Hands-on experience with OMNEX DFMEA software.
- Knowledge of automotive OEM/Tier-1 product development processes.
- Exposure to continuous improvement and quality management practices.
