Detailed Responsibilities

- Design & Engineering Support Design and develop new motor products, including electromagnetic,

mechanical, and thermal design, from initial concept through detailed engineering drawings.
- Perform electromagnetic simulations and calculations (e.g., using tools like ANSYS Maxwell, Motor-CAD)

- Conduct mechanical design of motor components (rotor, stator, shaft, bearings, housing, windings) using CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).

- Knowledge of winding design, magnet selection (rare earth/ferrite), and thermal management.

- Create and maintain BOMs, engineering drawings, tolerances, and design specifications (GD&T;).

- Testing & Report Develop prototypes and coordinate build, testing, and validation of new motor

designs.
- Analyse test data (performance, thermal, vibration, noise, durability) and iterate designs to meet

specifications.
- Collaborate with manufacturing/process engineers to ensure designs are optimised for production

(DFM/DFA).
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards (IEC, NEMA, UL, ISO, etc.) and safety/regulatory

requirements.
- Create reports of tolerance stack-up analysis and DFM/DFA principles.





- Training & Continuous Improvement Stay current with emerging motor technologies, materials, and

manufacturing techniques.
- Manage or contribute to current product development (NPD) timelines, milestones, and deliverables.

Required Skills and Competencies:

- Strong understanding of electric motor theory (BLDC, PMSM, stepper motor control) and mechanical gear systems.
- Familiarity with CAD (for understanding designs) and basic FEA/simulation concepts is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with test equipment: dynamometers, power analysers, oscilloscopes, DAQ systems.
- Experience with Six Sigma/DFMEA/FMEA methodologies.
- Prior experience taking a product from concept to mass production.
- Hands-on experience with inspection tools and shop-floor processes.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards (IEC, NEMA, ISO, AGMA, UL)."

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3 - 6 years of experience.
- CAD experience
- Proficient in SolidWorks
- Strong organisational and communication skills
