Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager in Design & Engineering plays a pivotal role in overseeing new product development (NPD) and engineering processes, ensuring that projects align with organizational goals and industry standards. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership to drive efficiency, innovation, and quality within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead NPD planning and execution by collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and ensure timely project delivery.

- Conduct feasibility studies for design projects, focusing on functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.

- Develop and implement process design strategies to optimize production, including cost and investment planning.

- Plan and procure tools and fixtures essential for manufacturing processes, ensuring alignment with project requirements.

- Arrange and negotiate quotations with suppliers, maintaining solid vendor relationships to achieve competitive pricing.





- Validate and implement Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs) to improve product quality and compliance.

- Review and approve drawings, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements before release.

Requirements:

- B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with a 10+ years of relevant experience in design and engineering.

- Extensive experience in CNC programming and proficiency in CAM software.

- Hands-on experience in gear manufacturing, including knowledge of hob and shaving cutter requirements.

- Familiarity with gear machines, including hobbing, shaving, shaper, and broaching.

- Strong mastery of design tools such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

- Proficiency in BOM & Routing Creation utilizing D365 ERP systems.

- Excellent problem-solving skills with a track record of vendor process troubleshooting and customer complaint resolution.
