Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Database Engineer / Database Administrator with strong expertise in database engineering, administration, performance optimization, and production support. The candidate will be responsible for managing highly available, mission-critical database environments across Oracle, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.

Key Responsibilities

- Architect, operate, and maintain high-availability database clusters across Oracle, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.
- Perform advanced database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and capacity planning.
- Design and implement database backup, point-in-time recovery (PITR), failover, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Maintain high availability and reliability by implementing proactive monitoring, telemetry, and automated alerting.
- Manage database replication, clustering, connection management, security, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
- Automate routine database administration and operational tasks using Python, Shell scripting, or equivalent tools.
- Troubleshoot complex production incidents, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Participate in on-call rotations to support mission-critical production databases and meet availability targets.
- Collaborate with application, platform, security, cloud,



and operations teams to ensure database reliability.
- Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and database performance reports.

Essential Skills
- 8–10 years of IT experience in database engineering, database administration, and production support.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL databases.
- Strong knowledge of database architecture, clustering, replication, and high availability.
- Expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, indexing strategies, and capacity planning.
- Experience with backup and recovery, PITR, failover, disaster recovery, and RPO/RTO requirements.
- Knowledge of database security, access management, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
- Experience with database monitoring, alerting, telemetry, and production troubleshooting.
- Hands-on scripting and automation experience using Python, Shell, or similar tools.
- Valuable understanding of Linux/Unix, cloud infrastructure, networking, storage, and containerized environments.
- Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Skills
- Experience managing large-scale, mission-critical database clusters.
- Knowledge of cloud database platforms and containerized production environments.
- Experience with database automation, observability, and reliability engineering practices.
- Familiarity with high-availability targets, including 99.999% availability requirements.
