- A Cyber Security Intern assists security and IT teams in protecting an organization’s systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. Under the supervision of senior analysts, interns gain hands-on experience in threat monitoring, vulnerability management, and incident response Key Responsibilities • Monitoring & Triage: Monitor security alerts, logs, and event streams from SIEM and endpoint monitoring platforms.
- Vulnerability Assessment: Assist with running security scans, identifying system weaknesses, and reviewing configurations.
- Incident Response: Help investigate suspicious activity, phishing emails, or malware alerts, and support containment/remediation.
- System Hardening: Assist in hardening operating systems, networks, and firewalls.
- Documentation: Record investigation findings, maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), and compile incident report summaries.
- Compliance & Research: Support baseline risk assessments, GRC tasks, or emerging threat research (e.g., CVE analysis).
