Position: Civil Engineer

Location: Manda Dairy Plant, Sikar, Rajasthan.

1. Job Purpose To manage civil construction, architectural planning, infrastructure development, and maintenance activities at the dairy plant. The role involves preparing architectural layouts and drawings, supervising civil projects, maintaining plant infrastructure, and ensuring hygienic design, structural safety, cost control, quality, and timely project execution.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Civil Construction & Project Execution

- Supervise civil construction, renovation, expansion, and infrastructure development projects at the dairy plant.
- Execute construction and modification of processing areas, production blocks, warehouses, cold storage facilities, utility buildings, offices, and other plant infrastructure.
- Monitor contractors, labor, materials, and site activities to ensure timely completion as per approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Inspect construction work, including concrete, masonry, plastering, flooring, waterproofing, and finishing.

B. Architectural Planning & Design

- Prepare architectural layouts, floor plans, elevations, sections, and detailed drawings for recent construction, renovation, and plant expansion projects.
- Develop layouts for processing areas, packaging sections, laboratories, warehouses, utility blocks, offices, and employee facilities.
- Ensure efficient space utilization, workflow, personnel movement, material handling, and segregation of operational areas.
- Read, interpret, and coordinate architectural, structural, and civil drawings with electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC requirements.
- Conduct site surveys and recommend practical design modifications based on site conditions and operational requirements.
- Coordinate with external architects, consultants, and structural engineers wherever specialized design or certification is required.

C. Plant Infrastructure & Maintenance

- Maintain plant buildings, floors, walls, roofs, drainage systems, internal roads, boundary walls, and other civil infrastructure.




- Conduct regular inspections and arrange timely repairs of cracks, leakage, seepage, damaged flooring, and structural defects.
- Plan and execute preventive maintenance and civil repair activities to minimize recurring problems and operational disruptions.
- Maintain infrastructure in good condition through effective maintenance planning and execution.

D. Dairy Plant Design & Hygiene

- Ensure suitable flooring, wall finishes, ceilings, drainage slopes, and washable surfaces in processing and packaging areas.
- Plan hygienic layouts that facilitate cleaning, prevent water stagnation, and support the prevention of cross-contamination.
- Monitor civil works related to ETP, STP, water storage tanks, utility areas, and wastewater drainage systems.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality Assurance, Food Safety, Maintenance, and EHS teams to meet plant operational, hygiene, and safety requirements.

E. Project Planning, Costing & Documentation

- Prepare BOQs, quantity calculations, cost estimates, material specifications, and project budgets.
- Review contractor quotations, verify measurements and bills, and monitor project expenditure against approved budgets.
- Manage contractors and manpower, control material wastage, and ensure efficient utilization of resources.
- Prepare project schedules, progress reports, and other relevant documentation.
- Maintain updated architectural and civil drawings, drawing revisions, maintenance records, and as-built drawings.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising construction quality, safety, or operational requirements.

F. Quality, Safety & Statutory Compliance

- Ensure that civil and architectural work complies with approved drawings, specifications, applicable building codes, and statutory requirements.




- Follow site safety procedures and permit-to-work requirements during construction and maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with relevant consultants and authorities for drawings, approvals, and statutory clearances, as applicable.
- Ensure compliance with applicable plant hygiene, food safety, and workplace safety requirements.

3. Educational Qualification

- B.E./B. Tech in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Additional qualifications or training in architectural drafting, building planning, or design software will be an advantage.

4. Experience

- 4–8 years of relevant experience in civil construction, architectural planning, industrial infrastructure, projects, or plant maintenance.
- Experience in dairy, food processing, FMCG, or other manufacturing industries will be preferred.
- Candidates should have practical experience in preparing architectural layouts and civil drawings using AutoCAD, in addition to handling site execution and maintenance activities.

5. Skills Required

- Strong knowledge of civil construction, industrial building design, structural repairs, flooring, waterproofing, drainage, and hygienic construction practices.
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and 3D, along with industrial experience.
- Practical ability to prepare and modify architectural layouts, floor plans, elevations, sections, and civil drawings using AutoCAD.
- Understanding of space planning, production workflow, hygienic zoning, material movement, and dairy plant infrastructure requirements.
- Experience in BOQ preparation, cost estimation, contractor billing, budget control, and material management.
- Strong project planning, site supervision, contractor management, and execution skills.
- Ability to coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, EHS, MEP consultants, and external contractors.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel; familiarity with Revit/BIM will be an added advantage.
- Good problem-solving, communication, documentation, and decision-making skills.
