Role overviewThe Business Development Manager owns new client acquisition and AUM growth for Mehta Finvest.

This is a front-end, revenue-carrying role. You will build your own pipeline of HNI, NRI, and corporate prospects, run first meetings, and work with the founder to convert them into advisory relationships. You will also build portfolios and find, qualify, and win clients.

Key responsibilitiesClient acquisition

- Source and qualify HNI, NRI, family and corporate treasury prospects
- Run discovery meetings, present the advisory proposition, and close mandates
- Own the full cycle from first contact to onboarding and KYC completion

Channel and referral development

- Build referral relationships with CAs, lawyers, bankers, insurance agents and existing clients
- Represent Mehta Finvest at industry events, society meetings and corporate forums
- Identify and pursue employer tie-ups for salaried SIP and treasury mandates

Pipeline discipline

- Maintain every prospect, interaction, and next step in the CRM
- Report weekly on pipeline stage, expected AUM, and conversion
- Flag stalled opportunities early with a recovery plan

Product and proposal support

- Hold a working knowledge of mutual funds, AIFs, PMS, SIF, bonds and SME or pre-IPO opportunities
- Prepare pitch decks, proposals, and comparative illustrations with the founder

Retention and account growth





- Conduct periodic reviews with assigned clients and surface top-up or wallet-share opportunities
- Collect testimonials and referrals from satisfied clients

Marketing support

- Feed field insight into LinkedIn content, carousels and campaigns
- Support webinars, client events and website lead follow-up

Qualifications and experienceRequired

- 1-3 years in financial services sales: wealth management, mutual fund distribution, private banking, insurance or broking
- Demonstrable track record of acquiring clients and growing AUM, with numbers you can speak to
- Graduate in commerce, finance, economics or business
- NISM Series V-A (Mutual Fund Distributors) certified, or willing to clear it within 60 days of joining
- Based in Mumbai with the ability to travel across the city for client meetings

Preferred

- An existing network of HNI or corporate relationships in Mumbai
- NISM Series X-A and X-B (Investment Adviser), or CFP, CWM or CFA progress
- Exposure to AIF, PMS or unlisted and pre-IPO products
- Comfort working with NRI clients across time zones

Skills and attributes
- You can hold a conversation with a promoter or a CXO about asset allocation without reading from a script.
- You generate your own leads rather than waiting for them.
- We do not sell what does not fit. If you need product push to hit a number, this is the wrong desk.
- CRM hygiene, follow-up on time, documentation complete the first time.
- Comfortable with XIRR, rolling returns, expense ratios, and a basic fund comparison.
- Fluent in English, Hindi, and Gujarati/Marathi is a robust advantage for the Mumbai client base.
- Comfortable in a small firm. You will do your own decks, your own follow-ups, and your own research.
