Job Purpose

We are hiring an experienced First Class Boiler Operator for utility and boiler operations at a manufacturing plant near Sriperumbudur, Chennai.

The role is responsible for the secure and efficient operation of Furnace Oil (FO)-fired and Coal-fired boilers through SCADA , ensuring reliable steam generation, statutory and safety compliance, process control, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Boiler Operations

- Operate and monitor FO-fired and Coal-fired boilers through SCADA.
- Maintain steam pressure, temperature, airflow, fuel feed rate and draft conditions.
- Ensure proper coal feeding and ash conveying operations.

SCADA Monitoring & Process Control

- Monitor IPS and critical process parameters.




- Identify abnormalities and initiate corrective actions.
- Monitor boiler interlocks, alarms and safety systems.
- Troubleshoot boiler and process deviations.

Maintenance Coordination

- Coordinate preventive and routine maintenance activities.
- Execute and supervise boiler shutdown maintenance.
- Support external vendors and inspectors during annual boiler inspections.

Team & Field Operations

- Allocate and supervise work for Second Class Boiler Attendants / Field Operators.
- Coordinate control-room and field boiler operations.

Fuel & Utility Management

- Monitor Coal and Furnace Oil stock and usage.
- Follow FIFO practices.
- Monitor coal conveying and ash handling systems.
- Ensure zero spillage and accumulation in coal and FO areas.

Operational Excellence

- Implement Daily Work Management (DWM) practices.
- Monitor Unsafe Act (USA) and Unsafe Condition (USC) reporting and corrective actions.
- Follow QBM, 5S, CLIT and continuous-improvement practices.
