We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled, and customer-focused Barista to join our existing café team.

About the Role

As a Barista at Dharitri, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality coffees, creative mocktails, matcha beverages, and pour-over coffee, along with assisting in fresh food preparation.

We are looking for someone who combines beverage-making skills with excellent communication, a friendly personality, and a genuine passion for hospitality. You should be comfortable interacting with customers, explaining menu items, recommending beverages, and ensuring every guest has a pleasant experience.

Key Responsibilities

Coffee & Beverage Preparation

- Prepare espresso-based beverages such as cappuccinos, lattes, Americanos, and other café favourites.
- Demonstrate knowledge of espresso extraction, coffee calibration, milk steaming, and latte preparation.
- Prepare specialty pour-over coffee with attention to brewing techniques, consistency, and flavour.
- Prepare matcha-based beverages and maintain consistency in taste and presentation.
- Create refreshing mocktails and other non-alcoholic beverages.
- Follow standard recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines.

Food Preparation

- Handle basic food preparation, including washing and chopping vegetables.
- Prepare sandwiches and other simple café food items as per the menu.




- Ensure ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled hygienically.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the food preparation area.

Customer Service & Communication

- Communicate confidently, politely, and clearly with customers.
- Greet customers warmly, understand their preferences, and recommend suitable beverages and food items.
- Explain menu items, ingredients, brewing methods, and beverage options when required.
- Take orders accurately and coordinate effectively with team members.
- Handle customer queries and feedback professionally.
- Create a welcoming atmosphere through friendly, attentive, and proactive service.

Café Operations & Hygiene

- Maintain cleanliness of the coffee machine, grinder, brewing equipment, and workstations.
- Assist with daily opening and closing procedures.
- Monitor ingredient availability and inform the team about low stock.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and storage practices.
- Support daily café operations and contribute to a smooth service experience.

Skills & Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in a café, coffee shop, or hospitality environment preferred.
- Good knowledge of coffee preparation, especially espresso-based beverages.
- Familiarity with matcha, mocktails, and pour-over brewing.
- Basic food preparation skills, particularly vegetable chopping and sandwich preparation.




- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confident, fluent, and courteous customer interaction skills.
- Ability to explain menu items clearly and make thoughtful recommendations.
- Strong attention to detail and consistency in beverage preparation.
- Understanding of food hygiene and safe ingredient handling.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work in a team.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized during busy service hours.
