1. Job Purpose

To prepare accurate 2D drawings and 3D models of mechanical components, machine parts, tools, fixtures and manufacturing components using AutoCAD and other relevant CAD software, ensuring that designs meet production requirements, quality standards and customer specifications.
1. Roles & Responsibilities

- Prepare and modify 2D engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
- Develop 3D models of mechanical components wherever required.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches and technical specifications.
- Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings with dimensions, tolerances, material specifications and other necessary details.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Tool Room and other departments for drawing-related requirements.
- Make drawing revisions as per customer requirements and engineering changes.
- Ensure accuracy of dimensions and compliance with approved drawings.
- Prepare and maintain drawing records, CAD files and revision history.
- Support the production team in resolving drawing-related technical issues.
- Assist in the development and improvement of components, tools, jigs and fixtures.
- Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials) and other technical documentation wherever required.
- Ensure that the latest approved drawings are available to the concerned departments.
- Follow company quality procedures, safety rules and engineering standards.




- Perform other engineering-related duties assigned by the reporting manager.

1. Required Skills

- Good knowledge of AutoCAD 2D drafting.
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering drawings and GD&T.;
- Understanding of dimensions, tolerances, fits and material specifications.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, sheet metal or press components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Knowledge of 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA or Creo will be an added advantage.
- Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.

1. Educational Qualification

- Diploma or B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.
- ITI in Mechanical/Draughtsman Mechanical may be considered for suitable candidates with relevant experience.

1. Experience

- Freshers may be considered based on technical skills.
- Preferred experience: 1–3 years in a manufacturing or engineering company.

1. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Accuracy of engineering drawings.
- Timely completion of drawings and revisions.
- Number of drawing-related errors or rework cases.
- Compliance with customer specifications.
- Proper maintenance of drawing records and revision control.
- Coordination and support provided to the Production and Quality departments.

1. Working Conditions

- Work may involve both office/design activities and shop-floor coordination.
