: AutoCAD Draftsman Position: AutoCAD Draftsman Department: Design / Engineering Reports to: Design Engineer / Project Manager Location: [Project/Office location] Role purposePrepare accurate, coordinated drawings using AutoCAD in line with project requirements, approved design information, and company drafting standards. Key responsibilitiesPrepare and revise 2D drawings from sketches, markups, specifications, and engineer instructions. Produce plans, elevations, sections, details, layouts, and as-built drawings.

Coordinate drawings with architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, and other disciplines. Check dimensions, levels, annotations, drawing references, and layer standards before issue. Incorporate review comments and maintain revision records.

Manage drawing files, xrefs, title blocks, plot settings, and document registers. Issue drawings for internal review and approval through the established document-control process. Visit project sites when required to verify dimensions and existing conditions.

Communicate discrepancies or missing information to the responsible engineer before proceeding.



Follow company procedures, project specifications, and applicable codes and standards.

Qualifications and experienceDiploma, certificate, or equivalent training in drafting, CAD, or a relevant technical field. Practical experience with AutoCAD and technical drawing production.

Experience in the relevant industry—such as civil, structural, architectural, or MEP—is preferred. Familiarity with drawing revisions, layers, blocks, xrefs, layouts, and plotting. SkillsStrong attention to detail and dimension accuracy.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and markups. Explicit communication and coordination skills. Good file organization and time management. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet drawing submission deadlines.
