About the role. This role leads company's concrete and construction-materials vertical, built on CNT dispersions for concrete admixtures. The engineer owns mix design, performance and durability testing, standards compliance and field trials, and turns lab results into specifications customers can use. The two openings may split focus between lab development and field/customer trials.
Key responsibilities
- Set the technical roadmap for CNT-enhanced admixtures and cementitious systems.
- Design and lead concrete mix trials with carbon dispersions; assess workability, setting time, compressive and flexural strength, shrinkage and durability.
- Develop and optimise formulations for structural concrete, precast, RMC, infrastructure and mortar applications.
- Run and supervise IS/ASTM testing: slump, compressive and flexural strength, permeability, chloride penetration, shrinkage and durability studies.
- Study interaction of CNT dispersions with cement, superplasticisers, SCMs (fly ash, GGBS, silica fume) and fibres.
- Benchmark carbon-modified concrete against conventional mixes and competing admixtures, including cement-reduction and carbon-footprint potential.
- Plan and lead customer trials with RMC companies, precast makers, cement producers and infrastructure contractors; troubleshoot on site.
- Work with the Dispersion team to set dispersion specifications that suit concrete performance and dosing.
- Guide IS code, BIS certification and admixture-standard compliance (e.g. IS 9103).
- Prepare technical reports, data sheets and case studies; present results to customers and management.
- Lead and mentor the Assistant Scientist; run a secure, well-calibrated concrete lab.
Qualifications & experience
- B.E./B.Tech. in Civil Engineering required; M.Tech. or Ph.D. in Structural Engineering, Concrete Technology or Construction Materials preferred.
- 5-10 years in concrete mix design, admixture development, RMC/precast technical services or construction-materials R&D.;
- Strong working knowledge of IS 456, IS 10262, IS 383, IS 516, IS 9103 and relevant ASTM standards.
- Hands-on experience with UTM, compression testing machines, slump cone, curing tanks and durability test set-ups.
- Experience leading projects and field trials.
Preferred
- Work with nano-additives, fibre-reinforced or high-performance concrete.
- Background with cement companies, RMC players or admixture manufacturers.
- Exposure to green-concrete and low-carbon construction initiatives; publications or patents.
Key skills
- Experimental planning and rigorous data analysis.
- Confident customer-facing technical communication.
- Collaboration with chemists and materials scientists
