As a Senior SAM Consultant, you will own customer engagements across the SAM lifecycle, from presales and solution shaping through delivery, optimization, renewal, and account growth. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will work with IT, Procurement, Finance, and executive stakeholders to identify savings opportunities, strengthen audit readiness, rationalize software estates, and improve licensing outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

- Leading end-to-end SAM engagements, including scoping, planning, Effective License Position baselining, governance, quality, commercial oversight, and customer deliverables.
- Developing renewal and licensing strategies across major software publishers, helping customers evaluate options and prepare for commercial negotiations.
- Identifying and quantifying optimization opportunities through license right-sizing, re-harvesting, edition optimization, cloud and BYOL considerations, and improved software utilization.
- Assessing software portfolios to identify overlapping, under-used, or redundant applications and developing practical rationalization recommendations.
- Building trusted relationships with senior customer stakeholders while leading business reviews, steering discussions, escalations,



and strategic recommendations.
- Supporting business growth through customer pitches, proposals, RFP responses, follow-on opportunities, and mentoring consultants on SAM delivery best practices.

Job Requirements

- Robust experience in Software Asset Management, software licensing, ITAM, or technology advisory roles, including ownership of customer-facing engagements.
- Deep understanding of software licensing and optimization, particularly across major publishers such as Microsoft and Oracle, alongside SaaS and cloud licensing models.
- Experience supporting major software renewals, compliance assessments, optimization programs, and measurable cost-saving initiatives.
- Strong executive communication, presentation, consulting, and negotiation skills, with confidence engaging IT, Procurement, Finance, and senior decision-makers.
- Working knowledge of SAM platforms such as ServiceNow SAM Pro, Flexera, or Snow, combined with strong analytical capabilities using tools such as Excel or Power BI.
- Commercial and consultative mindset with the ability to translate licensing and software estate data into clear business cases, recommendations, and customer outcomes.
