Role Description The Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department will be responsible for delivering lectures, conducting tutorials and laboratories, and guiding students in core mechanical engineering subjects. The role involves designing and updating course materials, contributing to curriculum development, supervising student projects, and mentoring learners in academic and career matters. The faculty member will engage in research activities,



publish in reputed journals and conferences, and participate in departmental and institutional academic initiatives.

Additional responsibilities include involvement in accreditation processes, attending faculty meetings, supporting outreach and industry collaboration, and contributing to a positive learning environment. This is a full time, on-site role based at VKIT’s campus in Kumbalagodu, Bengaluru.

Qualifications

- Master’s degree (M.E./M.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Candidates should possess strong expertise in core Mechanical Engineering areas such as Heat Transfer and Solid Mechanics.
- Candidates should possess Research skills, including the ability to conduct scholarly work, publish in peer-reviewed venues, and guide student research projects.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to teach and mentor a diverse student body effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to use up-to-date teaching tools, laboratory equipment, and educational technologies relevant to mechanical engineering.
- Commitment to academic ethics, student-centered learning, teamwork within the department, and participation in institutional development activities.
