Job Summary

We are looking for a hands-on, result-oriented Assistant Production Manager who will be responsible for managing day-to-day shop-floor operations, production planning and execution, resource allocation, quality standards, and timely delivery of products as per customer requirements.

The role requires a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, production scheduling, manpower management, process improvement, and coordination with departments such as Quality, Purchase, Stores, Maintenance, Design, and Dispatch.

The successful candidate should be comfortable working on the shop floor, resolving operational issues, monitoring production performance, and implementing practical measures to improve productivity, reduce rework, and control manufacturing costs

Key Responsibilities

- Production Planning: Execute daily and monthly production plans, achieve targets, and ensure timely completion of orders.
- Shop-Floor Management: Supervise operators and technicians, allocate manpower, monitor productivity, and maintain workforce discipline.
- Process Improvement: Reduce downtime, rejection, rework,



and material wastage through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Quality Control: Ensure adherence to drawings, specifications, SOPs, and quality standards; coordinate corrective actions for recurring defects.
- Resource Management: Coordinate with Purchase, Stores, and Planning teams to ensure timely availability of materials, tools, and components.
- Machine Maintenance & Safety: Coordinate preventive maintenance, minimize breakdowns, and ensure workplace safety and housekeeping.
- MIS & Cost Control: Track production output, rejection, downtime, material consumption, and productivity; maintain daily production reports.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with Quality, Design, Engineering, Maintenance, Stores, and Dispatch teams to resolve production issues and meet delivery commitments.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Achievement of production targets and on-time order completion.
- Reduction in rejection, rework, material wastage, and machine downtime.
- Improvement in labour productivity and machine utilization.
- Compliance with quality, safety, and housekeeping standards.
- Timely and accurate production reporting.
