Consultant – Procurement Strategy

Role Overview

The role involves supporting procurement strategy and category management engagements, identifying cost optimization opportunities, developing sourcing strategies, and working with stakeholders to drive measurable procurement and business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Support procurement strategy and category management engagements across various spend categories.

- Conduct spend analysis, supplier benchmarking, market intelligence, and category assessments to identify savings opportunities.

- Support strategic sourcing initiatives, including RFP/RFQ development, supplier evaluation, bid analysis, and commercial negotiations.

- Develop and implement cost reduction levers such as supplier consolidation, demand management, specification optimization, and contract optimization.

- Analyze procurement and spend data to identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.

- Support contract and commercial management activities, including MSA review, negotiation support, amendments, and compliance tracking.

- Work closely with category managers and client stakeholders to develop savings plans, track realization, and strengthen savings governance.

- Conduct supplier and market research to assess pricing, supply market dynamics, risks, and sourcing opportunities.

- Identify procurement process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency, TAT, and SLA performance.

- Prepare client-ready presentations,



analytical models, benchmarking reports, and strategic recommendations for senior stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

- 5+ years of relevant experience in Procurement Strategy, Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, Procurement Consulting, or Procurement Transformation.

- Strong understanding of spend analysis, sourcing strategy, supplier management, and cost optimization.

- Hands-on experience with RFP/RFQ processes, supplier evaluation, commercial negotiations, and contract management.

- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable procurement insights.

- Strong proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.

- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.

- Ability to work on multiple engagements and manage deliverables within defined timelines.

Preferred Experience

- Experience in Procurement Consulting / Big 4 Advisory / Strategic Sourcing / Category Management.

- Exposure to procurement transformation, savings governance, or process improvement initiatives.

- Experience working with large-scale procurement organizations or global clients.

- Exposure to procurement analytics, spend analytics, or procurement technology platforms will be an added advantage.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Candidates should have a strong understanding of strategic procurement and category management, with hands-on exposure to sourcing, spend analysis, supplier negotiations, cost optimization, and stakeholder management.

Experience in delivering measurable procurement savings and supporting end-to-end sourcing initiatives would be highly relevant.
