KEY ACTIVITIES:
1. Develop detailed mechanical designs for transformers for critical projects.
2. Develop mechanical layouts for transformer tanks, covers, radiators, conservators, mounting structures, and accessories.
3. Study customer specifications and convert them into mechanical design solutions.
4. Prepare and validate BOMs for accuracy and cost optimization.
5. Design internal CCA connections and structural supports.
6. Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability and ease of assembly.
7. Manage work allocation to team based on their skill set and project timelines.
8.
Review & approve all drawings & BOM prepared by team in 3D and 2D CAD.
9. Compare BOMs with actual production to improve cost accuracy for future projects.
10. Support the Manager in reviewing drawings, BOMs, and technical documents.
11. Address shop-floor and site-related mechanical NCs. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
12. Update drawings and documents based on feedback from production and QA.
13. Prepare and continuously update a detailed Design Manual to establish and document design standards, best practices, and guidelines for the mechanical design team.
14. Maintain and update mechanical design documentation, ensuring version control and accessibility.
15. Train junior mechanical design engineers.
