Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and technically competent Assistant Manager Hot Rolling Mill (HRM) / Milling to manage and optimize production operations. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in copper hot rolling mill operations or similar metal processing/foundry industries, with robust knowledge of HRM, SRF and milling processes.

The role involves managing day-to-day production activities, improving productivity and product quality, optimizing throughput, ensuring smooth plant operations, and implementing process improvements in line with organizational targets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Direct and manage Hot Rolling Mill (HRM) and milling production operations to achieve planned production targets.
2. Monitor production activities to ensure timely execution, optimum throughput and efficient utilization of resources.
3. Develop and implement technical solutions to improve product quality, process efficiency and productivity.
4. Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering and other departments to ensure uninterrupted production.
5. Identify process bottlenecks, analyze production issues and implement corrective and preventive measures.
6. Plan,



execute and monitor production process improvement initiatives.
7. Independently coordinate and execute approved capital investment and process improvement projects.
8. Develop and maintain manpower plans for the production area to ensure effective workforce utilization.
9. Establish, monitor and achieve departmental production targets, KPIs and operational goals.
10. Ensure compliance with production procedures, quality standards, safety requirements and company policies.
11. Utilize SAP for production-related activities, reporting and monitoring, as applicable.
12. Prepare production reports, analyze operational data and present performance updates to senior management.
13. Work closely with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Experience and Technical Skills

1. 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in production operations within the metal processing, copper manufacturing, hot rolling mill or similar foundry industry.
2. Hands-on experience in Copper Hot Rolling Mill operations is preferred.
3. Strong knowledge of Hot Rolling Mill (HRM), SRF and milling processes.
4. Basic understanding of heat transfer, mass transfer and material plasticity.
5. Knowledge of metallurgy and metal processing principles.
6. Understanding of automated control systems will be an added advantage.
7. Working knowledge of SAP applications and MS Office.
8. Experience in production planning, process optimization, quality improvement and throughput enhancement.
