Job Summary

Skyfer Logistic is hiring experienced Air Export Specialists to manage air freight shipments for the USA and Canada trade lanes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating air export shipments from booking through departure and final delivery. The position requires accurate documentation, proactive shipment monitoring, and effective coordination with customers, airlines, overseas agents, customs brokers, transporters, and internal teams.

Applicants must have relevant, hands-on air export operations experience within a freight forwarding company and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage air export shipments from booking confirmation through departure and final delivery.
- Coordinate with customers, airlines, overseas agents, customs brokers, transporters, and internal departments.
- Arrange airline bookings based on customer requirements, routing, schedules, cargo cut-off times, and space availability.
- Prepare, verify, and process export documentation, including House Air Waybills (HAWB) and Master Air Waybills (MAWB).
- Review shipping instructions and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy.
- Monitor shipment milestones and provide timely status updates to customers and relevant stakeholders.
- Follow up on cargo acceptance, departure, transit, arrival, customs clearance, and delivery.




- Ensure compliance with applicable export procedures, customs requirements, airline regulations, and customer instructions.
- Identify potential delays, documentation errors, or operational issues and take timely corrective action.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and update operational information in CargoWise or the applicable system.
- Coordinate with finance and internal teams regarding shipment costs, billing details, and supporting documentation.
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer enquiries and shipment-related concerns.
- Maintain explicit communication and proper operational handovers between local and overseas teams.

Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in air export operations.
- Relevant operational experience within a freight forwarding company is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of air export procedures, airline bookings, flight schedules, cargo cut-offs, and shipment tracking.
- Practical experience preparing and verifying HAWBs, MAWBs, export documents, and customs-related documentation.
- Ability to independently coordinate with airlines, customers, overseas agents, customs brokers, and internal teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organisational, coordination,



and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities within strict timelines.
- High attention to detail, particularly in shipment documentation and system updates.
- Willingness to work the night shift from the Chennai office.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience handling air export shipments for the USA and Canada trade lanes.
- Practical working experience with CargoWise.
- Ability to coordinate effectively across different countries and time zones.
- Strong customer-service skills with a high level of ownership and accountability.
- Immediate availability or a short notice period.

Important Eligibility Requirement Relevant hands-on air export experience within a freight forwarding company is mandatory.

Candidates whose experience is limited to liner companies or shipping lines will not meet the operational requirements of this position and will not be considered.
