Social Media & Events Strategist
About Aisle
Aisle is a leading dating app for Indians and the global South Asian community, built for people looking for meaningful relationships and serious intent. With 30M+ members, we’re building a brand that sits at the intersection of contemporary dating, culture and relationships.
About the Role
We’re looking for a self-driven Social Media & Events Strategist who can take ownership of our social media and help us build thoughtful, engaging brand experiences.
You will be responsible for planning, creating, executing and improving our social media presence, while also helping us build and execute events.
Our events are largely agency-led, so this is not a traditional event production role. We need someone who can come up with good event ideas, find the right partners, negotiate smartly and create elegant, well-executed experiences without needing large budgets.
This is a role for someone who doesn't wait for a brief. You should be able to spot opportunities, bring ideas, solve problems and get things moving.
Role Ownership & Key Outcomes
You will own the outcome, not just the task.
1. Grow and Strengthen Our Social Presence
You own: The day-to-day growth and quality of our social media.
Success looks like:
Consistent growth in followers.
Lower unfollow rates.
Improved engagement rate (ER).
Stronger reach and content performance.
A clear and recognisable brand presence across platforms.
Regularly improving what we post based on what the audience responds to.
1. Build a Strong Content Engine
You own: Making sure we always have relevant, good-quality content going out.
Success looks like:
A well-planned and consistently executed content calendar.
A healthy pipeline of content ideas.
More repeatable content formats and franchises.
Faster identification and use of relevant trends.
Less dependence on constant briefs or direction from others.
1. Make Our Events Feel Bigger Than the Budget
You own: Helping create events that feel elegant, thoughtful and exciting without overspending.
Success looks like:
Strong event concepts that fit the brand.
Events that are well attended and generate meaningful engagement.
Smart use of partnerships, barters and collaborations to reduce costs.
Strong execution with minimal last-minute issues.
Events that create content and social buzz beyond the event itself.
1. Build an Ecosystem of Partners
You own: Finding and developing relationships with people and businesses who can help us create better events and experiences.
This could include
Restaurants and cafs
Venues
Brands
Creators and influencers
Communities
Event partners
Media and other relevant partners
Success looks like:
A growing network of useful partners.
Better deals and collaborations over time.
More events executed through partnerships rather than only paid vendors.
Ability to create high-quality experiences at lower costs.
1. Take End-to-End Ownership
You own: Moving projects from idea plan execution measurement learning.
We expect you to
Identify what needs to be done.
Create the plan.
Get the right people involved.
Follow up and push things forward.
Solve problems independently.
Measure the outcome.
Learn from what worked and what didn't.
You should not need someone to constantly follow up with you to get things done.
What You’ll Do Social Media
Develop and execute the social media strategy across Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Reddit and other relevant platforms.
Own the content calendar and work with the creative team, agencies and creators to get content out.
Come up with ideas for reels, memes, carousels, stories, posts and other formats.
Stay on top of trends, conversations and cultural moments and identify what could work for the brand.
Ensure everything we put out has a strong creative and quality bar.
Track social media performance and understand what is working, what isn't and why.
Use learnings from performance to improve future content.
Conduct regular competitor and category scans to identify new opportunities.
Work with creators and influencers on briefs, content reviews and partnerships.
Build repeatable content formats, ideas and playbooks that can scale.
Be output and performance driven, with a focus on follower growth,
reducing unfollow rate and improving engagement rate.
Events & Partnerships
Help plan and execute brand events and experiences.
Work with our event agencies to ensure events are aligned with the brand and executed well.
Come up with interesting, premium-feeling event ideas that don't require premium budgets.
Identify and build relationships with potential event partners — restaurants, cafs, brands, venues, communities, creators and other relevant businesses.
Find opportunities for barters, partnerships, sponsorships and revenue-share arrangements to make events more cost-effective.
Negotiate with partners and vendors to get the best possible value.
Be involved in the event from concept to execution, including on-ground coordination when required.
Be comfortable hosting or representing the brand at events.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is:
Proactive and high ownership — you don't need to be told what to do at every step. A strong content thinker with good creative taste.
Able to understand what makes content interesting, relevant, premium and shareable.
Comfortable working with agencies, creators and external partners.
Good at finding creative solutions when budgets are limited.
Resourceful — you know how to get things done without always spending more money.
Good at building relationships and comfortable reaching out to potential partners.
Comfortable looking at numbers and using data to make better decisions.
Organised and able to manage multiple projects at the same time.
Comfortable experimenting, learning from what doesn't work and trying again.
Confident enough to take decisions and move things forward.
Comfortable being hands-on when needed, including at events.
Most importantly, we want someone who can say:
“I’ll make it happen, and I’ll own the outcome.”
Requirements
3+ years of experience in social media, content, digital marketing, events or a similar role.
OR
You are a creator with 5K+ followers and 2+ years of relevant experience, with a strong understanding of content and audience building.
Experience working with creators, agencies or external partners is a plus.
Experience in events, partnerships or community building is a strong plus. Great at execution
