About the Role

We are seeking an experienced AI / ML Lead to lead the AI and technology-feasibility workstream for a government-sector initiative. The role combines AI/ML solution assessment, hands-on data analysis, technical scoping, and direct engagement with client system and data owners.

The ideal candidate should be able to determine which use cases genuinely require AI and which are better addressed through rule-based automation or conventional digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess the technical feasibility of proposed use cases and determine their suitability for AI/ML implementation.
- Classify use cases as AI-led solutions or rule-based digital transformation initiatives.
- Evaluate AI/ML, Generative AI (GenAI), NLP, and RPA approaches, including build-versus-adopt options and implementation effort estimates.
- Engage with client system owners, data owners, and departmental stakeholders to gather technical and data-related information.
- Perform data profiling, querying, exploratory analysis, and interpretation of client-provided sample datasets.




- Evaluate reusable government AI building blocks, such as IndiaAI and Bhashini, wherever relevant.
- Define the technical roadmap and contribute to the overall implementation roadmap.
- Prepare AI scoping, technical recommendations, and RFQ inputs, considering Responsible AI, data privacy, DPDP Act, 2023, and security requirements.

- Required Qualifications & Skills

- Graduate or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- 7–10 years of relevant AI/ML, Data Science, RPA, or AI solution-delivery experience, including lead-level responsibilities.
- Hands-on proficiency in Python or R and SQL, including data profiling and interpretation.
- Robust understanding of AI/ML feasibility, solution selection, and technical scoping.
- Excellent stakeholder communication and technical documentation skills.

- Good to Have

- Experience with GenAI, LLMs, NLP, and MLOps.
- Previous experience with government AI or public-sector projects.
- Knowledge of Responsible AI, data privacy, and secure AI implementation.
- Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
