PGT – PHYSICS

Position: Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) – PhysicsDepartment: Senior Secondary / ScienceLocation: Birla Open Minds International School, Hoshiarpur, PunjabEmployment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic, qualified and passionate PGT Physics to join our academic team. The ideal candidate should possess strong subject knowledge, excellent classroom-management skills, and the ability to inspire students to develop scientific thinking, conceptual clarity and a genuine interest in Physics.

Key Responsibilities

- Teach Physics to Classes XI–XII in accordance with CBSE curriculum and NEP 2020 principles.
- Plan and deliver engaging, concept-driven and activity-based lessons.
- Develop students’ problem-solving, analytical, critical-thinking and scientific reasoning skills.
- Conduct practical/laboratory sessions effectively and ensure adherence to laboratory safety protocols.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, question papers, assignments and other academic resources.
- Regularly assess student learning through formative and summative assessments.
- Analyse student performance and provide timely academic support and remedial interventions.
- Integrate ICT, digital resources, simulations and innovative teaching methodologies into classroom instruction.
- Mentor students for board examinations, competitive examinations, projects and scientific activities.
- Maintain accurate academic records, student portfolios and assessment data.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, workshops, training programmes, academic planning and school events.
- Contribute to the overall academic development and enrichment programmes of the school.




- Maintain professional communication with parents regarding students’ academic progress and development.
- Uphold the school’s standards of discipline, professionalism, ethics and child safeguarding.

Essential Qualifications

- M.Sc. in Physics from a recognised university.
- B.Ed. from a recognised institution.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant teaching experience, preferably at the senior-secondary level.
- Strong knowledge of CBSE curriculum and assessment practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using digital teaching tools and educational technology.

Desirable Attributes

- Experience of teaching CBSE Classes XI–XII Physics.
- Experience with practical/laboratory-based learning.
- Familiarity with NEP 2020, competency-based education and experiential learning.
- Experience in preparing students for JEE/NEET or other competitive examinations will be an advantage.
- Ability to use smart classrooms, simulations and AI-enabled educational tools.
- Strong mentoring and student-engagement skills.
