Company: Novo Nordisk Global Business Services (GBS)
Shape the digital backbone that helps Novo Nordisk reach millions of patients living with serious chronic diseases. As a Senior Service Now Developer, you'll build and evolve the platform that keeps our global IT operations running – and you'll see the impact of your code in everything we deliver.
Your new role
As our new Senior Service Now Developer, you'll take ownership of hands-on development, day-to-day support, and platform operations across multiple Service Now modules. You'll design and customise robust solutions, ensure stable integrations, and help mature how we use Service Now across the enterprise.
Day-to-day your tasks will include:
- Designing, building and maintaining Service Now applications, workflows and integrations end-to-end across modules such as ITSM and ITOM
- Building and maintaining integrations with third-party monitoring tools and data sources (APIs, REST/SOAP, scheduled imports) and working with ITOM components such as Discovery/MID Server, Service Mapping and CMDB
- Owning the full development lifecycle – requirements, solution design, build, test, deployment and support – while upholding coding, security and QMS standards
- Providing day-to-day support for production issues, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis and continuous improvements
- Participating in release upgrades, code reviews, patching, and managing Change, Release and deployments via update sets
- Collaborating with Product Owners, Architects, system managers and business stakeholders globally
- Mentoring junior developers and championing coding standards and best practices
Your new department
In Enterprise IT & Quality, you will be part of a business area that drives impact across the full Novo Nordisk value chain. We strive to stay close to our stakeholders in the business to ensure we deliver on their needs, helping reach millions of people living with serious chronic diseases.
Our focus is on being at the forefront within our three areas; ensuring the highest quality for patients, being a trusted tech leader and an environmentally responsible business.
Within Enterprise IT & Quality, our Service Now team is responsible for designing, operating and evolving the platform that underpins critical IT services across Novo Nordisk. We work closely with stakeholders around the world to deliver scalable, reliable and compliant solutions – and your work will directly shape how our colleagues serve patients every day.
Your skills & qualifications
We're looking for an experienced Service Now Developer who thrives in a global, regulated environment and brings both technical depth and a collaborative mindset. You'll bring with you:
- 8+ years of experience in IT industry with a strong background in software development and integrating solutions.
- 4+ years of hands-on development experience with Service Now, with solid depth in scoped applications, update set lifecycle, REST/Table API, Glide Record, and encoded queries.
- Strong Java Script, Flow Designer, and REST/SOAP integration skills with a solid understanding of Service Now module capabilities and architecture
- Experience using AI-powered coding assistants and LLM-based development tools to accelerate code generation, review, and documentation.
- Familiarity with LLM integration patterns, including API design, prompt management, and responsible AI guardrails. Experience with Now Assist is a plus.
- Service Now certifications, and experience in regulated/GxP environments is an advantage
- Strong technical writing skills with the ability to produce clear specifications, documentation, and structured instructions.
- Technical curiosity and a proactive approach to staying updated with advancements in AI and Service Now technologies.
- Strong background in IT processes and working within large organizations.
- Practical experience with Protected and ITIL as daily workflow — linking stories, documenting deployments, and managing promotion through environments
- A proven track record of support and operations in large, regulated enterprises with the ability to manage change, prioritize workload, and deliver under pressure
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across global teams
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
