Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and technically sound Head of Machine Department to manage machine operations, production activities, maintenance, and the machine department team. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth operations, improving productivity, maintaining quality standards, and minimizing machine downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily machine shop operations and production activities.
- Plan and monitor production schedules to achieve targets.
- Supervise machine operators, technicians, and supervisors.
- Ensure proper machine utilization and minimize downtime.
- Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Identify process improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs.
- Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Maintain production reports, machine records, and performance data.
- Ensure workplace safety and compliance with company policies.
- Coordinate with production, quality, maintenance, and other departments.
- Train and guide team members to improve technical skills and performance.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of machine shop operations and manufacturing processes.
- Experience in production planning and team management.
- Knowledge of machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to handle production targets and resolve operational issues.
- Robust leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of quality standards and workplace safety.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in a manufacturing or engineering industry.
- Proven experience managing a machine department.
- Ability to handle manpower, machines, production planning, and quality control.
- Hands-on technical knowledge with strong team leadership skills.
