Overview
The Software Developer builds and maintains the software that powers Fedstack's candidate-facing experience and internal program operations, including the application flow, coding challenge portal, and information session booking tools. You'll work remotely from India as part of a distributed team, partnering with engineering, recruiting, marketing, and program coordination to ship reliable, secure, well-tested code that moves early-career engineers smoothly through the funnel. This role offers the chance to own meaningful pieces of the platform while contributing to Fedstack's mission of expanding access to high-growth technology careers.





Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, and maintain software features across the candidate application flow, coding challenge portal, and scheduling tools
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code and participate actively in code review
• Collaborate with recruiting, marketing, and program coordination to understand where candidates get stuck and build fixes that improve completion rates
• Diagnose and resolve bugs, performance issues, and technical debt across the platform
• Contribute to technical decisions on architecture, tooling, and engineering best practices, with security in mind given Fedstack's work in regulated environments
• Maintain and improve automated testing, CI/CD, and deployment processes
• Communicate progress, blockers, and trade-offs clearly in an asynchronous, distributed team setting
