Job Description – SDET / Automation QA Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on SDET / Automation QA Engineer with strong expertise in Playwright, TypeScript, Appium, API automation, and AI-assisted test automation.

The resource will be responsible for developing and maintaining automation solutions across Web, Android, iOS, and APIs, with a focus on scalable framework development, automation coverage, execution optimization, CI/CD integration, and test reliability.

Prior experience in Stock Broking, Trading is highly preferred.

Mandatory Technical Skills

- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright + TypeScript for scalable Web UI automation, including locators, assertions, fixtures, browser contexts, cross-browser testing, and synchronization.

- Strong TypeScript/JavaScript programming skills with knowledge of OOP, async/await, promises, exception handling, and reusable code design.

- Experience in automation framework development and maintenance using Page Object Model (POM), fixtures, utilities, Data-Driven Testing, test data management, and reusable components.

- Hands-on experience with Appium for Android & iOS automation, including real devices/emulators, APK/iOS builds, mobile locators, gestures, permissions, alerts, app lifecycle, deep links, notifications, and device-specific scenarios.

- Strong experience in REST API testing and automation, including request/response validation, headers, authentication/authorization, status codes, schema validation, negative scenarios, API chaining, and UI/API data validation.

- Experience integrating Web, Mobile, API,



and End-to-End automation for business-critical workflows.

- Experience with parallel execution, test tagging, retries, reporting, screenshots/videos/traces, and flaky-test identification and stabilization.

- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills to identify and resolve application, automation, setting, and test-data issues.

- Hands-on experience integrating automation with Jenkins / CI-CD pipelines for scheduled, build-triggered, and regression execution.

- Good knowledge of Git and source-code management, including branching, pull requests, code reviews, and merge practices.

- Experience with Chromium, Firefox, and WebKit or equivalent cross-browser automation.

- Ability to independently develop, debug, maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot automation scripts and frameworks.

- Experience with BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or equivalent cloud-based device/browser platforms is an added advantage.

- The candidate should be capable of writing and debugging automation code independently, rather than relying only on record-and-playback automation tools.

- Experience optimizing large regression suites for parallel execution and reduced execution time will be an advantage.

AI-Assisted Automation – Mandatory
- Practical experience using AI-assisted coding/testing tools to improve automation productivity.

- Ability to use AI for:

- Test case and test scenario generation

- Playwright script/code generation





- Locator and automation code suggestions

- Test data generation

- Test maintenance and refactoring

- Failure/log analysis and debugging

- Identifying automation coverage gaps

- Generating reusable automation components

- Hands-on experience with tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or equivalent AI development/testing tools.

- Ability to review, validate, debug, and optimize AI-generated automation code rather than relying on AI-generated code without technical validation.

Candidate Profile

- 3–5 years of experience in SDET / Automation Testing / QA Automation.

- Strong hands-on Playwright + TypeScript experience.

- Practical Appium Android & iOS automation experience.

- Strong programming and framework development capabilities.

- Practical experience using AI tools in software development/testing.

- Good understanding of API automation and CI/CD.

- Able to independently develop, debug, maintain, and optimize automation solutions.

- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

- Broking/trading domain experience preferred.
