Senior Training & Placement Officer / Head – Training & Placements

Engineering College

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech with MBA / M.E./M.Tech; Ph.D. preferred

Experience: 8–15 years of relevant experience, preferably in reputed Engineering Institutions

Reporting To: Principal / Management

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the Training & Placement Cell and develop an annual placement strategy with measurable targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with reputed IT, Core Engineering, Manufacturing, Product, R&D; and multinational companies.
- Identify and onboard new recruiters and strengthen engagement with existing corporate partners.
- Drive campus, pooled and off-campus recruitment opportunities for eligible students.
- Develop a structured placement training roadmap covering aptitude, coding, technical skills, communication, GD and interview preparation.
- Analyse branch-wise placement gaps and implement suitable training and placement interventions.
- Establish strong industry–institution partnerships for placements, internships, projects, industry training, expert sessions and MoUs.
- Personally engage with HR Heads, Talent Acquisition Leaders and senior corporate professionals to generate placement opportunities.
- Lead and mentor the Placement Officers, Trainers and Department Placement Coordinators.




- Set and monitor KPIs including placement percentage, number of recruiters, packages, internship conversions and student participation.
- Ensure systematic follow-up from company sourcing to offer release and final joining of selected students.
- Develop opportunities for students in both IT and Core Engineering sectors, with focus on quality and higher-package placements.
- Prepare and present weekly/monthly placement MIS and performance reports to the Management.
- Maintain accurate documentation and placement evidence for AICTE, NBA, NAAC, NIRF and accreditation requirements.
- Benchmark placement performance with leading Engineering Institutions and continuously improve the institution's corporate visibility and placement outcomes.

Candidate Profile A senior, result-oriented placement skilled with strong corporate connections, proven recruiter acquisition capability, leadership skills and a successful track record of improving Engineering College placements.

Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate an established recruiter network and measurable placement achievements in their previous institutions.

Preference will be given for candidates who are in and around or willing to relocate to Coimbatore (only)
