Product Architect

About The Role The Product Architect is responsible for defining and governing the end-to-end architecture strategy across cloud, data, AI/ML, and application platforms within a product or offering portfolio. This is a 12–16-year role based in India / USI.

This role operates at the intersection of business strategy and engineering execution, translating client and product objectives into scalable, secure, and compliant target-state architectures.

The Product

Architect ensures alignment with Deloitte engineering standards, DevSecOps practices, and industry regulatory requirements while enabling high-quality, enterprise-grade delivery. The role requires deep technical expertise, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to influence across product, engineering, security, and client leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture Strategy &

- Governance

- Define and maintain target-state architecture for products and platforms across cloud, AI, data, and application layers

- Develop architecture roadmaps aligned to product vision, client requirements, and market strategy

- Establish and enforce architecture standards, reference architectures, and design principles

- Lead architecture review boards and document technical decision records

- Ensure alignment with Deloitte technology risk, security, and compliance frameworks

Cloud &
- Application Architecture

- Design secure cloud landing zones (IAM, network segmentation, logging, monitoring, cost controls)

- Architect multi-tenant and single-tenant SaaS platforms

- Define scalable microservices, API-first, and event-driven architectures

- Ensure non-functional requirements (scalability, resilience, performance, availability, DR) are embedded early in design

- Provide hands-on architectural guidance for cloud-native implementations (AWS/Azure/GCP)

AI/ML &
- Data Architecture

- Architect end-to-end AI/ML solutions from ingestion and feature engineering to model deployment and monitoring

- Define MLOps standards (model registry, CI/CD integration, reproducibility, drift detection)

- Establish data architecture standards including modeling, lineage, governance, access control, and retention

- Implement RBAC and fine-grained security models across data and application layers

- Ensure AI solutions comply with responsible AI, privacy, and regulatory expectations

DevSecOps &
- Engineering Excellence

- Drive DevSecOps adoption including IaC, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and secure release practices

- Embed security controls (SAST/DAST, secrets management) into the SDLC

- Promote SRE and observability practices across product teams





- Identify and mitigate architectural risks, technical debt, and systemic dependencies

Stakeholder &
- Team Leadership

- Partner with Product Owners, Engineering Leads, Security, and Client stakeholders to resolve architectural trade-offs

- Communicate complex technical concepts to executive audiences and delivery teams

- Mentor engineers and junior architects to elevate architectural maturity

- Contribute to proposals, RFP responses, and client solutioning as required

- Support capability development within the practice through knowledge sharing and reusable assets

Reporting Relationships

Reports to the Product Engineering Leader / Offering Architect. Partners with Product Owners, Engineering Leads, Security, and Client stakeholders to resolve architectural trade-offs, and mentors engineers and junior architects across the practice.

Qualifications

Required

- 12 -1 6 years of experience in software engineering and/or architecture roles

- Demonstrated experience delivering production-grade cloud-native solutions

- Robust expertise in distributed systems and enterprise application design

- Hands-on experience operationalizing AI/ML solutions and implementing MLOps

- Experience with enterprise data architecture and governance frameworks

- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives across product and delivery teams

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent

Preferred

- Cloud Architect certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP)

- Experience working in regulated environments (Healthcare, Financial Services, Government)

- Exposure to Zero Trust security models and enterprise compliance frameworks

- Experience contributing to reusable accelerators, frameworks, or IP
