Role Description This full-time, in office Sr Engineer Costing role is based in Gurugram and focuses on cost estimation and control for exhaust systems and related machinery components.

The Sr Engineer

Costing will analyze product designs, raw materials, labor, and process requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with design, production, and procurement teams, reviewing bills of materials, and validating supplier prices. The role involves monitoring actual production costs against estimates, identifying variances, and recommending process or design changes to improve cost efficiency.

Costing will also support budgeting activities, prepare costing reports for management, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in cost optimization and profitability.

Qualifications

- Strong costing and estimation skills for automotive or machinery components, including experience with bills of materials and cost breakdowns.
- Proficiency in data analysis and use of spreadsheets or ERP systems for cost tracking, variance analysis, and reporting.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and supply chain concepts relevant to exhaust systems or mechanical assemblies.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, quality, procurement) and communicate clearly with stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; advanced qualifications or certifications in costing or finance are an advantage.
- Several years of experience in engineering costing, product costing, or industrial engineering within manufacturing or automotive industries.
- Attention to detail, strong numerical aptitude, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, on-site environment.
- Familiarity with Indian industrial standards and local supplier markets is beneficial.
