About Marketnode

Marketnode is a financial market infrastructure company backed by SGX Group, Temasek, HSBC and Euroclear. We build and operate digital market infrastructure across capital markets, funds and credit, working with leading banks and institutions across APAC and beyond.

About Smartflow

Smartflow is Marketnode's AI and agentic workflow engine for asset operations. Currently live with credit, it automates the event lifecycle, including onboarding, drawdowns, amendments, repricings, covenant testing and agency notices. It extracts structured data from complex documents such as APLMA/LMA credit agreements, links every field to its source clause, routes outputs through human-in-the-loop review, and pushes the results into loan management systems such as Finastra Loan IQ.

The Role

- We are looking for an experienced hands-on Technical Business Analyst to support the delivery and enhancement of Smartflow and the asset management platforms it integrates with. You'll define how AI reads a credit documents and posts to loan management systems (LMS) like LoanIQ. You will work closely with business stakeholders, engineering and AI teams, clients and vendors to translate credit workflows into clear technical and functional requirements.
- You will be the person who understands how a syndicated loan actually behaves, from the credit agreement through amendments to servicing events, and who can turn that into precise requirements for extraction logic, review workflows, data models and LMS integrations. This is a hands-on role at the intersection of credit operations, enterprise integration and applied AI.
- Experience with commercial lending or loan servicing platforms such as Finastra Loan IQ (or equivalents such as FIS, Temenos or ACBS) is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements and analysis

- Gather, analyse and document business and technical requirements for credit and lending systems, covering origination, servicing, syndication and collateral management workflows.
- Define requirements for how Smartflow captures and structures credit events (onboarding, drawdowns, amendments, repricings, covenant tests, agency notices), including field definitions, validation rules and confidence thresholds.
- Document business rules for amendment handling, including clause-level comparison,

version tracking and supersession logic, so that the "golden record" of a deal stays accurate across amendments and restatements.
- Specify covenant monitoring requirements, including financial definitions, deal-specific add-backs, ratio calculation logic, breach detection and waiver workflows.
- Conduct gap analysis between current-state and future-state processes, and quantify operational impact (FTE effort, cycle times, error rates).

Bridging business and engineering

- Act as the bridge between business users, product owners, and engineering and AI teams, ensuring requirements are accurately translated into system design.
- Work with AI and ML engineers to define ground truth, extraction schemas and evaluation criteria, and to review model output quality against source documents.
- Design human-in-the-loop review workflows, including exception handling, reviewer actions, escalation paths and audit trail requirements.
- Clarify the credit and operational meaning of edge cases (non-standard clauses, bespoke amendments, multi-tranche and multi-currency facilities) for the engineering team.

Integration and implementation

- Analyse existing credit system configurations (e.g. Loan IQ) and recommend enhancements or integrations.
- Define and maintain data mapping between Smartflow's structured outputs and target systems (Loan IQ and other LMS platforms via API or SFTP), including transformation rules and reconciliation checks.
- Test and verify new changes to ensure alignment with requirements
- Support system implementations, client pilots, upgrades and migrations, including data mapping and reconciliation.
- Support client onboarding, translating each client's process, product set and document types into configuration and requirements.

Documentation and delivery

- Write detailed functional specifications, process flows and data mapping documents.
- Produce BRDs, FSDs,

user stories with acceptance criteria, and process and data flow diagrams.
- Support UAT planning, test case design, execution and defect triage, including accuracy testing of extraction output against source documents.
- Contribute to release notes, user documentation and training material for client operations teams.
- Support security, audit and compliance questionnaires from clients by documenting data flows, lineage and control design.

Required Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in financial services, with a focus on credit, lending and fixed income.
- Hands-on experience with Loan IQ or similar credit and loan management platforms (e.g. FIS Commercial Lending, Temenos, ACBS, or proprietary bank lending systems).
- Solid understanding of credit lifecycle processes: origination, drawdowns, repayments, syndication, collateral and covenants.
- Working knowledge of syndicated loan documentation, such as LMA/APLMA facility agreements, amendments and restatements, and agency notices.
- Experience writing BRDs, FSDs, and process and data flow diagrams.
- Strong data skills: data mapping, data modelling concepts, reconciliation, and comfort working with JSON, XML or CSV structures and APIs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain technical concepts to credit operations teams and credit concepts to engineers.

Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with document-intelligence, NLP or AI-enabled automation projects, including defining extraction schemas, test sets or accuracy metrics.
- Familiarity with LLM-based workflows, prompt and output evaluation, or human-in-the-loop design.
- Familiarity with agile delivery (Jira, Confluence) and with writing user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Working knowledge of one programming language and SQL for data validation.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CBAP, PMI-PBA) are a plus.

What Success Looks Like
- Requirements that engineering can build from with minimal rework.
- Extraction and mapping specs that hold up against real client documents.
- Smooth pilots and client go-lives, with UAT issues found and closed early.
- A clear feedback loop between client operations, credit domain experts and the AI engineering team.
