About the role

As a Mobile Engineer you will build and ship features across the Neo suite's React Native and Flutter apps — the surfaces where people carry Tasket, Friday, and Scribe in their pocket.

We are proponents of leveraging best-in-breed AI tools at every step of the engineering lifecycle — design, development, review, and testing. This requires a different engineering mindset: a lean team of senior, hands-on, AI-adept engineers, resulting in ultra-rapid iteration cycles and fast output. You will work within this approach, from design through to production.





You'll own well-scoped components end to end — from a feature's UI down to how it behaves on a real device — and grow your judgment on the trade-offs that only show up once something ships.

Responsibilities

Build

- Build features across Neo's cross-platform apps (React Native / Flutter) — the interfaces where people delegate work to Friday and pick up Tasket, Studio, and Scribe on the go.
- Take a spec to a shipped feature by directing agents through implementation, then reviewing the result against device behaviour, not just the simulator.

Architecture & systems judgment

- Own components and screens end to end — state management, navigation, and how they hold up under real network and device conditions.
- Contribute to design discussions on offline behaviour, sync, and app performance.

Agent leverage

- Use agents to move from spec to working UI quickly, then validate the output by hand against the craft and correctness bar.
- Structure well-defined tasks — a screen, a component, a bug — so agents can execute them reliably.

Quality & ownership

- Own performance and correctness on real devices — startup time, jank, memory, and behaviour across OS versions and screen sizes.
- Triage and fix crashes and platform-specific issues; keep release quality high across app store submissions.

Skills





- AI-native engineering practice — Comfortable directing coding agents against a explicit spec and validating their output against device-level reality, not just what compiles.
- Cross-platform mobile fundamentals — Solid command of React Native/TypeScript (preferred) or Flutter/Dart, including state management, navigation, and the native bridge/platform-channel layer when you need to drop below the framework.
- Native platform awareness — Working knowledge of Android and iOS build, release, and permissioning models — enough to debug a platform-specific issue without waiting on a native specialist.
- Performance & reliability — Reasons about startup time, rendering performance, offline/sync behaviour, and memory use on real, low-end devices, not just flagship hardware.
- API integration — Comfortable consuming REST/GraphQL APIs, handling auth, and building resilient network and caching layers for a mobile client.

Experience & Qualifications

- 4 years building and shipping production mobile apps
- 1 years in React Native (preferred) / Flutter, or equivalent cross-platform frameworks.
- Have taken at least one app through real app-store release and iteration cycles.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical depth.
