Job Summary We are looking for a Senior Java Spark Developer with 8 years of experience in Java, Spring Boot and Apache Spark. The ideal candidate will develop and maintain enterprise banking applications, with strong SQL and software engineering skills.

Mandatory

Skill(s) Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering and related field. Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in software development and testing. Strong hands-on experience with Java 17/21 and Spring Boot. Solid experience with Apache Spark. Strong knowledge of relational databases, particularly Microsoft SQL Server.

Experience with SQL performance tuning, SQL Profiler and Query Analyzer. Proficiency in Unix/Linux shell scripting.

Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI or Argo CD. Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies. Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Desirable

Skill(s) Experience in banking, financial services, credit risk or risk management applications. Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and modern DevOps tools. Exposure to Apache Airflow/Control-M and full-stack development.

Responsibilities Design, develop, test and maintain Java-based applications supporting the bank's risk and finance functions. Deliver high-quality, fully tested source code in accordance with established coding standards and quality objectives.



Design scalable and efficient technical solutions using established design patterns and best practices.

Collaborate with solution architects, business analysts and project managers to clarify requirements and define technical solutions. Analyse technical constraints and assess their functional impact. Optimise application performance and troubleshoot technical issues.

Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation and provide accurate development estimates. Define and coordinate testing strategies with project managers and business analysts. Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Support CI/CD processes and contribute to continuous improvement in development practices. Work collaboratively in a quick-paced Agile environment and report code quality metrics to project managers and team leads. Perform other related duties as assigned.
