Wizerr is building the AI-native decision infrastructure to design, build, and sustain hardware, and is bringing component engineering to the center of the hardware revolution.
About Wizerr
Wizerr brings engineering, component selection, and supply chain intelligence together in one system powered by Wizerr's component intelligence graph for millions of parts - external as well as internal.
That system powers the thousands of decisions behind every hardware program, from design and qualification to sourcing and lifecycle.
Leading EMS providers, OEMs, and semiconductor manufacturers use Wizerr to optimize BOMs, multi-source everything, increase reusability and respond faster to shortages and end-of-life events.
Our founders have built companies across semiconductors, enterprise software, and AI. The team combines machine learning, semiconductor, electrical engineering, and AI expertise. We are a small team, and we’re looking for a senior component engineer to help with various aspects of component intelligence.
The role
You will bring deep component engineering expertise to Wizerr and lead how it shows up in our platform, working closely with our engineering team to make Wizerr the most trusted source of component intelligence for our customers.
You’ll apply the judgment experienced component engineers are known for. Your calls will set the standard for the recommendations our customers rely on to make design and sourcing decisions.
What you’ll do
- Be our component authority. Bring deep, hands-on knowledge across component categories, from passives and discretes to power management, logic, and memory.
- Lead new categories. Own our expansion into several other component types.
- Judge interchangeability. Verify what makes a part a true drop-in versus a form-fit or functional alternate, including pin-to-pin and mechanical equivalence.
- Set data standards. Define what information each category needs and how it’s presented to customers, and partner with our data team to keep it complete and accurate.
- Raise the quality bar. Build the reference data we use to measure and improve quality.
- Catch the edge cases. Bring the eye for detail that spots what automated systems miss. When results don’t look right, dig into why and drive the fix.
- Support customers and integrations. Work with enterprise customers’ engineering teams, explain why a recommended alternate does or doesn’t fit, and help define how Wizerr fits into the tools engineers already use.
- Build the function. Establish how component engineering works at Wizerr as we grow.
What we’re looking for
Required
- 4+ years as a component engineer, hardware design engineer, or similar role at an OEM, ODM, EMS provider or a distributor.
- Strong working knowledge of ICs, passives, discretes, and connectors, including how to read and compare datasheets
- Experience qualifying alternate parts and evaluating form, fit, and function equivalence on production hardware
- Familiarity with package standards, pinouts, mechanical drawings,
and thermal considerations
- Experience with lifecycle management and obsolescence, and with working alongside supply chain and procurement teams
- Ability to read schematics and judge how a component change affects the design
- A sharp eye for detail and the confidence to say “this data is wrong” and explain why
- Comfortable working in spreadsheets and with large datasets
Nice to have
- Experience with PLM systems, approved vendor lists, or preferred parts programs
- Exposure to schematic and PCB tools (Cadence, KiCad, Altium)
- Familiarity with IPC, JEDEC, or AEC-Q standards
- Experience with data center, high-power, or high-speed hardware
- Basic SQL or Python, or curiosity about working alongside AI tools
Why join
- Put component engineering at the center. You’ll define how component expertise drives an AI product used across the electronics industry.
- Real impact at scale. Your work will reach millions of parts used by some of the largest names in electronics manufacturing.
- Work at the frontier. You’ll work hands-on with AI products for electronics design and the supply chain, including for teams building AI infrastructure.
- Silicon Valley startup culture. We have high ownership, little hierarchy, and decisions made in days, not quarters. You’ll work directly with the founders and engineering team and see your changes reach customers within weeks.
- Type: Full time
- Location: India, preferably Bangalore.
- Hours: Daily overlap with US Pacific time for team syncs and customer support
- How to apply: Send your resume and a short note about yourself at
