Job Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Liferay Developer with strong experience in Liferay DXP/Portal installation, environment setup, configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate should be capable of setting up Liferay environments from scratch and maintaining development, QA, UAT, and production environments.

This role requires a combination of Liferay platform knowledge, Java fundamentals, application server administration, Linux, database configuration, search integration, and deployment automation.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up, install, configure, and maintain Liferay DXP/Portal environments across Dev, QA, UAT, and Production.
- Configure Liferay 7.x, including platform settings, application dependencies, and environment-specific properties.
- Manage application servers such as Apache Tomcat and JBoss, including startup, shutdown, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Configure and validate database connectivity with MySQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
- Deploy Liferay modules, themes, plugins, and other application components across environments.
- Configure and troubleshoot Elasticsearch integration for Liferay search functionality.
- Support CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git, or similar deployment tools.
- Use Linux/Unix commands and shell scripts to automate routine administration and deployment tasks.
- Investigate application startup failures, deployment errors, search issues,



database connectivity problems, and performance bottlenecks.
- Analyze server logs, monitor application health, and support performance tuning and release activities.
- Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and DevOps teams to ensure reliable deployments and stable environments.
- Follow environment management, security, backup, and release procedures.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- 4–6 years of relevant Liferay development, platform engineering, or administration experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Liferay DXP/Portal, preferably version 7.x.
- Practical experience setting up and configuring Liferay environments from scratch.
- Good understanding of Java, OSGi modules, Liferay architecture, and deployment mechanisms.
- Experience with Apache Tomcat or another Java application server.
- Working knowledge of Linux/Unix commands, shell scripting, and server troubleshooting.
- Experience configuring databases and resolving connectivity issues.
- Familiarity with Elasticsearch integration, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Experience using Git and Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Docker or containerized application deployments.
- Exposure to AWS, Azure, or other cloud environments.
- Knowledge of application monitoring, performance tuning, and security configuration.
- Experience supporting production releases and resolving critical setting issues.
