Consultant, Full Stack Engineer - Java Backend

About the Role

Join a collaborative team delivering production-grade web applications that create real business impact. As a Consultant, you will design and build enterprise-scale solutions across both backend and frontend, with a focus on API development and seamless integration. You’ll use modern AI tools to boost productivity, work with technologies like Docker for deployment, and help guide projects from planning to delivery.

This role offers a chance to work on cutting-edge projects blending predictive analytics and cutting-edge technology, while mentoring junior engineers and partnering with global teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-quality web applications across backend and frontend.
- Translate Figma or similar UI designs to functional features using React.js, NextJs ,and TypeScript.
- Build and operate RESTful APIs and services using Java (Spring Boot or similar), including robust authentication and security integrations (OAuth2/JWT, mTLS, etc.).
- Integrate frontend components with backend logic via secure APIs.
- Containerize applications using Docker and optionally orchestrate with Kubernetes.
- Implement and enforce best practices for testing (JUnit, Jest), code quality, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Optimize for performance and scalability across the full stack.
- Work closely with DevOps, data scientists, and product managers to ship features efficiently.
- Actively use and promote advanced AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI, ChatGPT plugins) to improve development productivity.
- Mentor team members and contribute to a collaborative, innovation-driven engineering culture.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to a Senior Consultant or Manager within IDT. Liaises with onsite/offshore teams to understand functional requirements and may mentor or direct junior team members on a need basis.

Qualifications

Required

- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in full stack engineering roles.




- Expert-level experience in Java(8 ) for backend development, must have shipped production APIs using Spring Boot or similar frameworks.
- Strong frontend skills: React.js, NextJs, TypeScript, Material UI/component libraries.
- Demonstrated use of AI-oriented development tools and plugins (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI).
- Deep experience with Docker, Git, automated testing frameworks, and CI/CD tooling.
- Strong understanding of data persistence, including RDBMS & SQL (or NoSQL), normalization, complex query troubleshooting, and ORM/JPA (e.g., Hibernate) for performant and transactional data access.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL/SQL and caching (e.g., Redis).
- Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.

Preferred

- Experience in agentic/AI-driven architectures or workflow orchestration.
- Familiarity with artifact management (e.g., JFrog), DevOps toolchain, and secure code/container practices.
- Knowledge of secrets managers, such as Doppler, and code/documentation tools.
- Working experience with Node/Python/. NET-related frameworks.
