Engineering Director

Location: Bengaluru — Onsite, all working days

Compensation: ₹65 LPA to ₹1.8 Cr

Experience: 10+ years

Senior Leadership Experience: 4+ years

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Director to lead the development and scaling of high-performance, student-focused consumer technology platforms.

This is a senior engineering leadership role requiring a robust combination of technical depth, architectural expertise, people leadership, and end-to-end product ownership.

Key responsibilities

- Lead the architecture, development, and scaling of high-traffic consumer applications.
- Own engineering strategy, technical architecture, execution, and delivery.
- Build and mentor high-performing engineering teams and engineering leaders.
- Drive technical decisions across frontend, backend, cloud infrastructure, and distributed systems.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and business leadership.
- Establish engineering best practices for code quality, performance, reliability, security, and scalability.
- Take ownership of critical production systems and continuously improve engineering efficiency.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and high ownership.

What we're looking for
- 10+ years of software engineering experience
- 4+ years in senior engineering leadership roles
- Proven experience building and scaling high-DAU B2C consumer platforms
- Strong expertise in backend technologies such as Node.js, NestJS, or Golang
- Strong understanding of frontend architecture using React.js and Next.js
- Experience designing distributed systems, microservices, APIs, and scalable cloud architectures




- Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and growing engineering teams
- Strong system design, architecture, and technical problem-solving capabilities
- Experience working in fast-paced, product-driven environments
- Willingness to work onsite in Bengaluru on all working days

Who could be a good fit

We are particularly interested in candidates currently working as Engineering Directors, Directors of Engineering, Heads of Engineering, Senior Engineering Managers, or highly technical engineering leaders.

Candidates who have built and scaled consumer-facing platforms serving large numbers of daily active users are especially relevant.

Experience in EdTech, consumer internet, or other high-scale B2C technology businesses is highly valuable.

This is not a pure people-management role. We are looking for someone who can lead engineering organizations while remaining deeply involved in architecture, technology strategy, and critical engineering decisions.
