Role Description The Buyer – Books role is a full time, on-site position based in Chennai. The buyer will be responsible for sourcing and selecting books aligned with GIRI’s spiritual, cultural, and traditional product portfolio, ensuring a relevant and diverse assortment. Day-to-day tasks include evaluating suppliers, negotiating pricing and terms, managing purchase orders, and monitoring stock levels to maintain optimal inventory.

The role involves analyzing sales data and customer preferences to guide buying decisions,



coordinating with showroom teams to understand demand trends, and collaborating with merchandising and sales teams on promotions. The buyer will also engage with publishers and distributors, track market developments, and support overall category growth and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Communication skills for coordinating with suppliers, internal teams, and customers.
- Candidates should possess Inventory Management skills to monitor stock levels, place timely orders, and reduce overstock or shortages.
- Candidates should possess Sales and Customer Service skills to understand customer needs, support showroom teams, and contribute to revenue growth.
- Candidates should possess Retail Buying skills, including supplier evaluation, negotiation, assortment planning, and market trend analysis.
- Experience in retail, bookstores, or spiritual/cultural products is beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site in Chennai with strong attention to detail and basic data analysis skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel or other inventory and sales tracking tools is an advantage.
- A diploma or degree in commerce, business, retail management, or a related field
