Job Title: Backend Developer (Ruby on Rails)

Overview: We are looking for a motivated Ruby on Rails Developer to join our engineering team and contribute to building scalable, secure and high-performance backend applications. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails, RESTful API development and PostgreSQL along with a solid understanding of software development principles and coding best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

- Backend Development: Design, develop and maintain web applications and backend services using Ruby on Rails.
- API Development: Build and maintain RESTful APIs, ensuring proper authentication, authorization, validation and error handling.
- Database Management: Work with PostgreSQL and ActiveRecord to manage database operations, write efficient queries and maintain data integrity.
- Code Quality: Write clean, modular, reusable and maintainable code while following object-oriented programming principles and SOLID principles.
- Debugging & Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve application bugs, technical issues and performance bottlenecks.
- Testing: Write and maintain automated tests using RSpec or Minitest to ensure application reliability and code quality.
- Performance Optimization: Assist in optimizing database queries, application performance and background job processing.
- Code Reviews & Collaboration: Participate in code reviews and collaborate with senior developers, frontend engineers and product teams to deliver effective technical solutions.
- API Integrations: Support third-party API integrations and contribute to the development of reliable backend workflows.
- Continuous Improvement:



Follow established development practices and contribute to improving code quality, application performance and engineering workflows.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- 1–3 years of hands-on experience developing web applications using Ruby on Rails.

Preferred Skills:

- Exposure to API integrations, fintech products or payment-related systems.
- Familiarity with background job processing, caching and application performance optimization.
- Understanding of application security best practices.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and Agile development practices.

Education:

Candidates must have completed at least a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline. Postgraduates are also welcome to apply.
