Backend Engineer (Python) — Payments Platform Location: Bengaluru, India (hybrid, three days a week in office) We are a fintech company that processes card and UPI payments for online merchants across India. Our platform team owns the services that authorise payments, settle funds and reconcile accounts, and we are hiring a backend engineer to help scale them.

What you will do

- Build and run backend services in Python using Django or FastAPI.

- Design schemas and tune queries on PostgreSQL for high-volume transaction data.
- Ship services to Kubernetes with Docker and maintain our CI/CD pipelines.
- Use Redis for caching and rate limiting.
- Work with product and risk teams to launch new payment features safely.
- Take part in an on-call rotation and help improve reliability.

What we are looking for

- 4 to 7 years of professional backend development experience.




- Robust Python and PostgreSQL are required.
- Experience running services on Kubernetes in production.
- Experience with Django or FastAPI.
- A good understanding of how to build reliable distributed systems.

Nice to have

- Kafka or another event streaming system.
- AWS experience.
- Prior work on payments or financial systems.
