We are looking for a detail-oriented Part Planner to manage machine shop capacity planning, production scheduling, work-in-progress (WIP) control, and material coordination. The role involves ensuring optimal resource utilization, timely production order release, and adherence to the monthly production plan.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Capacity Planning: Prepare and maintain the Machine Shop Capacity Plan based on the monthly production plan and available resources.
- Capacity Analysis: Perform capacity analysis for each machine and resource against the monthly production requirements.
- Bottleneck Management: Identify capacity constraints and bottlenecks and initiate appropriate mitigation actions to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Production Scheduling: Schedule machine shop activities in line with the monthly production plan and monitor execution.
- WIP Inventory Control: Monitor and control work-in-progress (WIP) inventory through effective production scheduling and follow-up.
- Production Order Release: Ensure production orders are released at least three days before the planned production date.
- Short-Term Planning: Ensure a minimum three-day production plan is available for every machine and resource.
- Production Order Ageing: Monitor production order ageing and ensure that no production order remains open for more than seven days, with timely follow-up on pending orders.
- Production Plan Adherence: Track production progress and coordinate with the shop floor team to ensure completion as per the planned schedule.
- Raw Material Planning: Prepare raw material requirements based on the production plan and coordinate with the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team to ensure material availability.
- ERP Coordination: Liaise with the ERP Administrator to resolve system-related queries, operational issues, and production planning discrepancies promptly.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate with Production, SCM, Stores, and other relevant departments to resolve planning and execution issues.

- Knowledge of CNC, VMC, and other machining operations is an advantage.
